"formerly "Medical Café" (1793) became "Peace Coffee" in 1900. it has been listed as a historic monument since 1984. it is the emblematic establishment of the city centre of the rock. located a verdun square in 54 hot streets, the various restorations have maintained the sumptuous decors of the ceilings and the unique charm of this place that has been attended by the greatest personalities, the world of arts or politics, of the last two centuries. inside, the very large room offers various small cossus lounges where it is possible to consume drinks and also to have lunch in peace if you wish. on the outside under the rocky arcades, a terrace where you can see, still planted in the wall, the ring where georges simenon tied his horse during his rocky period. on the other side of the street on the esplanade of the square of verdun, a large sunny terrace allows to have lunch nicely in front of the beautiful facade of this magnificent café."

A wonderful old style interior makes this café a delight to spend some time over a drink or two! The service was friendly and quick. It was easy for a family member in a wheelchair to join us. Add in the Georges Simenon connection and this is a must visit Highly recommended.

the coffee room, with its beautiful time setting is very welcoming and beautiful. My opinion will only focus on the beauty of the place and the pleasure of coming to drink a drink or eat a very nice ice because I never had lunch on the spot. rates are not the lowest in the city, but it is a must visit. the terrace overlooks the verdun square and it's always nice to land before taking the bus or getting his car back to the parking lot.
