Cafe im kraftwerk am wasserfall

Generators at the café somehow give you a great view of what was once used by the waterfall for electricity generation for the Monte Carlo of Austria.

Nice place for a coffee/pie or a small snack. Also beautiful view of the Bad Gastein cascade. The origin of the building power plant makes it a special place compared to a “standard” coffee shop.

Really unique place and a pearl at the top of the walk. Really unique in an old power station with a lot of the old things left. Great to be able to sit so close to the water fall, great cake and coffee. Good service...too

We visited during a blizzard, so were wrapped up warmly enough to ward off the chill in this turbine hall don't expect to swelter in tropical heat! But all that isn't really relevant once you see the 100 year old turbines and knobs and dials...and gauges... Not only that but food was good (veg soup, decent hot veg curry and apfel kuchen), service friendly and Radler bier very tasty.

on a hike from bad,hofgastein we came across this brilliant restaurant of the backdrop is a wonderful waterfall it is really a jewel of a place just sat back and took the ambience with coffee and cakes served by a beautiful...lady that gave us some facts about the place, just caution there is a steep walk down to the restaurant of the city bad guesthouse and if you were from bad hofgastein his ca. 2/3 hours walk

Situated at the bottom of the Bad Gastein waterfall this café former power station offers outside seating perfect on a hot day! The mist of the waterfall provides a nice way to cool off and is really nice as a view while sipping your...drink. The inside of the café is restored in a very nice way and has this great industrial look really worth to go inside as well! Service and staff is friendly. Kraftwerk has an area with art as well (back side of the building) and you will also find a couple of natural springs on that side of the building.

On exploring Bad Gastein we were pleased to find this unique restaurant/cafe. The view of the waterfall from the deck is stunning. The interior of the building is so interesting with machinery all around even being used as furniture. Toilets very clean. We had...a chicken salad (too much dressing over the lovely salad leaves was the only downside of the meal) and a crispy pizza based cheese and ham dish (sorry can't remember the menu name but it was delicious). Decent cup of tea too! The walk back to town from restaurant is, like much of the town, up a steep hill. However, if you use the steps behind the building there is s chance to see the town's original hot spring caves and to sample the...
