"I have eaten many meals it my travels over many parts of Italy over the past 30 years. I did not expect to have one of the 2 or 3 best in a railway station restaurant in the Maremma, but there you have it. This is not fancy cooking. Antonietta lovingly recreates her mother's home recipes (sometimes, she says, with her mother's help), blending the family's roots in Calabria with their adopted Tuscan home. Fantastic artichokes and potatoes, delicious spaghetti with clams, wonderful spinach and ricotta ravioli, outstanding local prosciutto, absolutely perfectly pan seared spicy peppers. Our neighbor was eating what looked like a perfect Neapolitan pizza I would have leaned over and cut myself a slice if we hadn't just eaten the best meal of our weeklong trip. This is comfort food. Just what your imagined Italian grandmother might have made you if you hadn't needed to imagine her. If the weather had been warmer, we would have sat outside looking at the mountains, instead we sat inside and watched the trains pull in and out, and chatted with Antonietta and her two brothers Dino and Massimo who collectively run the restaurant and bar. I'd make a special trip back next time I was in Tuscany. After all, I didn't get to try the pizza."

I hade a pleasant experience dining at the place. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a three course meal with main entree wild boar and not one item was bad. I plan to return and dine there with my friends.

Very simple Italian railway station bar with a great service, broad choice of appetizers for happy hours. It is located in the middle of Capalbio Scalo a couple of miles from the Capalbio beach and 8 miles form the middle age Capalbio village, an enchanting rock that dominates Maremma. View menu

the name is actually the coffee station, it is a small restaurant with annex bar. the kitchen is purely regional, with excellent ingredients and abundant portions, the service is fast and courteous. prices are very competitive, in high season it is better booked, because it is always crowded.

we found this place back from a trip, considered the time and the lack of reservation, we say we were lucky to find a table for three. the location is very simple, with tables and plastic chairs, tablecloths and paper napkins. the room has been obtained from a piece of relevance of the bar adjacent to the station, without floors. heating is obtained from gas stoves, usually used for premises with outdoor tables. I do not cone walls in masonry but only cover in wood and plastic. the waitress was sweet, kind and educated, little advantage still to the profession, the manager of the room turns cold and little empathic, mainly dedicated to taking orders and quickly spice the tables... of the ser...

"We arrived early to visit the nearby sculpture park, the Giardino dei Tarocchi. The restaurant was quite hard to find, tucked at the back of an inner courtyard parking lot and not well signed. It was not open for service when we arrived. Never the less we were seated and served coffee and chilled mineral water, and as soon as the kitchen was ready, our orders were taken, about 40 minutes before the scheduled opening at 1245 hrs. The menu was quite extensive, (with a convenient English language version) with the traditional central Italian cuisine and featuring wild boar (cinghiale) in a variety of dishes. We sampled the olive all 'ascolana (olives stuffed with meat, coated with bread crumbs and deep fried), a regional specialty. I had grilled young pork, (the crackling was perfect) and my wife had a very flavorsome and generous dish of grilled chicken. We added a dish of traditional Italian grilled vegetables (egg plant, peppers and zucchini) and some delightful French fries (cooked in very clean and sweet oil) for a very satisfying and tasty lunch. Finally we were tempted by Crema Catalana , the Catalan version of creme brulee. The flan mix was covered with a generous layer of raw sugar, doused with a liquor I didn 't identify, then set on fire at our table, where it happily burned for about five minutes, caramelizing the sugar topping. The single serving was more than enough for two! Altogether a delightful experience. This is the type of restaurant I always seek, but so often I am disappointed to end up in a crass ersatz tourist trap. Not this time. The service was polite and prompt. Everything was very tasty. The variety was impressive, the components fresh and appealing, the presentation unpretentious. This is the real thing, you feel you are eating in Momma 's farm kitchen. Not fine dining, but the best of country cuisine in an homely setting. Select your meal carefully and take your time. I wish I had an excuse to go back there."
