"This was the second time we ate here in 3 days. The food is simple but lovely. Both times we had tea for 2. The first time my wife had soup of the day, which was vegetable and cheese soup. I tried some and it was delicious. I had a lovely bacon sandwich that was more filling than I expected. The second time we had the tea again and both had toasted sandwiches. I had cheese and tomato and my wife had cheese and mushroom. If you have a sandwich toaster at home and like them quite well toasted, I found they didn't toast the sandwich for very long. Just enough to lightly toast the bread and heat the filling. I found I liked it like this and it didn't burn my mouth. All I'm saying is. If you do toasted sandwiches at home and cook for a good few minutes, don't expect these to be cooked for as long. You get 3 bread options. White, Granary and Gluten free. This second time. We also shared the last piece of Flapjack, which was lovely."

"I had a fantastic evening at Stepping Stones with my family. What I loved the most was the inviting aroma of delicious food as we approached the restaurant, along with the warm smiles that greeted us upon entering. The orange juice in my Bacardi was perfectly smooth and not too tart. The food was expertly cooked; the sweetness, the steak, and the treacle tart with lemon zest were absolutely outstanding! A big thank you to Stepping Stones for their wonderful hospitality; we will definitely be returning for more."

"We are regular visitors to Mad Hatters. Now three years since Sharon and Chris took over. We go for lunch and regularly are treated to one of Chris’s specials. Either soup or mackerel pate are fantastic regulars. However there are occasional delights like moussajka, lamb hotpot! Well worth looking at the specials board. Always a warm welcome from Sharon and super service. For us a wonderful regular treat!"

"We turned up for our booking and waited for about 10mins before anyone appeared. We were then told that no waiting staff had turned up so we may not be able to have any food. Was told the chef was in and one other person was in the kitchen but were refusing to bring the food out! After purchasing a drink we were told there was not going to be any food that night although the relief manager actually gave two other people some food while we were there. We left our drinks and walked out because of his attitude and he also knew nothing about our booking although we had an e mail confirmation. We paid out for a taxi to get there because of the awful weather and for drinks we ordered only to have with food. Absolutely disgusted with the whole fiasco. Would advise people not to go to this awful place."

"Had a delicious meal here last night with our 2 children. The food was amazing, so fresh and tasty . We had a shared starter and the prawn patties, which I could have quite happily eaten a plateful of. Followed by The Drunken Thai king prawns and chicken paneng. Fantastic. I saw them as a pop up last year but we never made it, so glad we made the effort this year. Keep up the good work."
