"We booked a table here the month before on the internet and received an email back saying "Nous avons pris note de votre réservation". However, it was a good job I confirmed we were had a reservation at lunchtime because the very pleasant young waiter told me they didn't have our names booked but it was no problem to book us a table for that evening (he said we had possibly booked a table at the le Ciel de Nimes, above the nearby Art Gallery, but I checked later and we hadn't). Anyway, we arrived and despite it being a very windy evening we were shown a very nice table tucked away from the mistral and the road, under a huge date palm. There is plenty of space between the table and the place quickly filled up. The same pleasant waiter we spoke to at lunchtime was still there and the wine waiter was also pleasant and helpful and between them helped us order prawns in a lightly spicy sauce and the scallop carpaccio for starters, lamb cutlets with vegetables for main, a bottle of red Ermitage du Pic St Loup followed by a selection of cheeses to help us polish of the excellent bottle of red. The food was cooked well, but the presentation style was more traditional French than nouvelle cuisine, which I liked because of its unpretentiousness (I suspect that word doesn't exist and is a bit pretentious to use it). All in all, it was a very enjoyable evening in a good setting, served by nice people and surrounded by people enjoying themselves. It's wasn't a cheap meal but well worth it."

Tipped by our guesthouse, we went their to have dinner and we are still thinking of it. Plenty to eat in the plate yet fine cuisine. We recommend!

Was in Nimes in May 2016. Stopped at this restaurant for lunch al fresco. Ate so much good food in France, I forget exactly what we had here, but I remember it was excellent.

We wandered in here after a long day of sightseeing. Although we didn't have a reservation, they were gracious and seated us. My two friends had the menu de jour and I had the fillet of beef. Everyone was happy with their meals. View menu

This restaurant has a good food, it has a continuing service which in Nimes sometimes its difficult to find restaurant services after lunch time. BUT The most important thing from this restaurant is the view over the Meson Carre and Nimes!!

Strolling through Nimes looking for evening meal and came across this restaurant. €29 for 3 excellent courses. Local wines explained well by waiter, who was friendly and explained parts of the menu we struggled to understand with our limited French. Beautiful decor. Amazing lighting

We found this gem at the end of lunch time. The lunch of the day was over, but we ordered from the a la carte. We had the Gaspacho soup for a starter and a filet for mains. Both were delicous. But the best experience was the young man waiter, who has a natural positive attitude for customer service. 10 points for that. View menu

A really nice entrance of what must have been an upper bourgeoisie type house previously. The "grand salon" is now the dining area, classically decorated with good taste. The service is on the pompous side while the food is appropriate. The details which counts are not: IE: no fabric towels in the bathroom wash bassin but disposable paper ones....

Between the Art Museum and the Fountain Jardin, in a very attractive, quiet area, you will find this restaurant. It has probably Nimes' most beautiful outdoor seating. And also a lovely interior. It is very reasonably priced, and the lunch menu is really a steal at way under 20 euros. You will have a quiet, peaceful lunch in a beautiful setting with friendly, helpful service. If you want a break from the noise and bustle of the main drag in Nimes, with its hectic, crowded restaurants that serve greasy fries and dried-out baguette slices, try le Carre d'Art. You will not be disappointed.

"Enoteca has only been going 6 months or so which may explain the lack of reviews on TripAdvisor but don't let that put you off dining here. We'd been staying close by for the week and hadn't realised at first that this restaurant is also linked to a great little deli about 10 doors down on the same rue. So you have two great places to discover! We stopped in there for a glass of wine first in the last of the days sun before heading to the restaurant for dinner. The owner is a lovely, attentive guy who is clearly very passionate about his Italian produce; food and wine! Over dinner we were well looked after and shared delicious burrata as starter, followed by two authentic Italian pasta dishes for main course. The beef in mine was rich and tender, obviously having been cooked for hours. Dessert were small coffees with a delicious citrus mouse on the side and plenty of biscotti biscuits to dip. Drinks wise we'd enjoyed a glass of white at the deli but moved onto passionfruit spritz for aperitifs followed by a delicious Nero d'Avola to match our mains. This red was fantastically smooth and fruity, with no hint of tannins in the after taste. I was surprised that the place wasn't packed out on a Friday night but there is a festival in town for a couple of days so that could be keeping people busy, but this place will surely gain in popularity and in the rankings in Nimes very soon. Recommend this Italian restaurant which suits this French city drenched in Roman history!"
