"Walking down Calle Mayor we chanced upon this superb bar and what a great find,walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here. Tastefully furnished and decorated, great photos of old Madrid adorning the walls, a cool looking serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling streets around Casa Anton. We were here on a roasting hot Monday afternoon, there had just been a torrential downpour that lasted about 20 minutes so we dropped into here, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff,after a study of the beers on offer my brother and I opted to have Estrella Damm beer ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and accompanied with a tasty tapa, we just kicked back,chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and vibrant bar. My beer was exceptional, a light,hoppy and unpretentious beer bursting with taste,very easy to drink,a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen really enjoy, the tapa was also superb. We both really enjoyed our beers and tapa in here untill the rain subsided and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with Casa Anton . Casa Anton is easy to locate along Calle Mayor in an area teeming with pubs,bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 10am till Midnight. Friday to Sunday, 10am till 1.30am. A great bar ,well worth a visit if your in the area."

We ate here because our Airbnb is in the same building. The staff is nice, prompt and speaks English. The front part is a bar, but they have a dining room in the back. They have a daily set menu for 9.90E, which includes a first dish, primary dish, and a dessert. It includes coffee or tea, but not water or alcohol. Each dish is not tiny, but larger than a tapa sized dish. The food was good, but not great, but a great value.
