"Randomly chose this place as it was close to El Retiro park and we’re glad that we did. Despite what others have said we found the service excellent, despite our poor Spanish, and the food great. We had Madrid specialities Cocido Madrile (Madrid’s famous stew) and and Caracoles a la madrileña (snails in a spicy sauce). Both were excellent. The staff were very helpful and very pleasant. Prices were good considering it’s a city centre restaurant."

Nice place to drink exellent beer and have a tasty spanish tapas. Many visitors in the evening, but enough place in and outside.

Small and not our first choise, but great tapas/ small meals. We ordered the paella Valenciana, goat cheese salad and grilled vegetables. Every plate was delicious. It is a bar, but we made it our restaurant.

Had a great evening here, sampled a number of wonderful tapas including squid, chicken and cheese. The sangria was first class, great value jug. The atmosphere was warm, the service good and the value outstanding.

We stopped for an early lunch. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly and everything was fine. The setting is very pleasant underneath canopies which kept it cool on a hot day. The food wasn’t memorable but I might come back again just because it was a nice place to watch the people go by

My wife and I found this bar after a delightful walk in Retiro Park. We had planned to visit a local restaurant. However we thoroughly enjoyed the food in this traditional Spanish bar. Excellent draft beer and tapas. Food from the menu was good quality. The staff were very attentive and the bar was immaculate. In summary a genuinely nice bar restaurant.

On our way to El Retiro we decided to stop for dinner at any of the restaurants on this avenue, and chose this one. Ordered Morcilla de burgos to share and Merluza en salsa verde, great dishes!! A bottle of wine and finished dinner with a glass of spanish brandy!....excelent food, great service and fair prices!. If you happen to be in the area you should pay a visit!.

I walked into this place because it was New Years day and all of Madrid was closed. It was a happy accident because it was a truly authentic experience. This place is filled with the elders of Madrid. It's like walking into a senior citizen's center, but they know what they're doing. The food was fresh and delicious. We had the jamon, the patatas, and the churros. Amazing prices, interesting atmosphere and great food!
