"beautiful small coffee shop with some great seating on the back. amore has not much kerbside appeal, sees clearly cut off the road. in the interior there are many seating places with some large sofas on the back. they are greeted with a beautiful display of cake and there is also a decent menu of sandwiches. the personal is kept very busy and sometimes the focus is distracted on details. a spiltdrink on our table was not noticed and even after a appeal for some serviettes was not noticed yet. as it was, the cape received a cursory wipe that allowed a larger cap to dry. not great, kids. perfectly decent eating and drinking to reasonable trips and there is a nice feeling for the place. and the cake uoh, yummy"

Went in on the off chance of a table as it was busy. So glad we did. The softest freshest bread for the sandwiches. Just delicious. And coffee is gorgeous. Lovely people, very friendly and safe. Exceptionally clean. Highly recommend

Not very impressed with Paignton as a place. Looking for somewhere to have a late lunch snack and found Amore. The food was well presented and tasty. The place lacked a bit of atmosphere but then so do many places due to covid restrictions. Always happy to support a small business instead of a chain.

we have visited wonderful friends who have serena lodge apartments in paignton and had breakfast each morning at chandlers. eating was really delicious, made with high quality local products and the staff was also very nice. a visit in chandlers every morning was one must, it has very nicely arranged our day and we will soon be back

had a nice latte with mandelmilch in amore this morning. they have a great selection of vegan and gluten-free cakes as well and the owners lead the place that are very attentive, friendly and courteous, so I highly recommend it for those who need diet or any unhappy with how they like their drinks and eat. I'll be sure to try their cake next!

I had a cream tea which was delicious and served quickly and my wife had a hot chocolate (also delicious) and nice crisp french fries. Plenty of gluten free options including cooked breakfasts and other dishes available. Opens quite late as they do evening meals too I believe. Staff were very friendly and the place was clean and tidy with a small al fresco section overlooking the main tourist strip. Will definitely be coming here again if I arrive back in Paginton.

A gem. We have been to Chandlers twice since the new owners took over. So impressed. The secret to this cafe is the great team with Stuart Jody. The food on both occasions was excellent (highly recommend the BLT). There was a superb array of cakes, the brownies are decadent and the home-baked white chocolate cookies are to die for. If you are a coffee lover then you won't be disappointed. For those looking for hot food they also offer daily specials with very reasonable prices. But above, after a visit to Chandlers, you'll be made to feel a part of the family.

"From the off, everything was bang on point. The warmth of the welcome, being taken straight to our table and offered water and an aperitif promptly. We, a party of three, opted for the set lunch, which offers very good value for money. £29.50 for two courses, £35 for three, with two options for each course. Two of us opted for the baked Roscoff onion with pearl barley. Simple ingredients but beautifully cooked with a truly sublime brown onion sauce of such intensity, it lifted an already lovely plate of food to another level. The other person had the ponzu cured mackerel which she pronounced lovely but she had serious food envy over the onion dish. The main courses were grilled hake, which again was sauced to perfection and a grilled bavette with a vegetable medley and a pea? puree and a meat jus. We added a small dish of dauphinois at £5 which complimented everything very well. We drank a good and reasonably priced Rioja Blanco. No room for dessert sadly. This restaurant is not cheap but there is a difference between cost and value and The Elephant offers very good value with the set lunch; it allows you to sample really very good cooking at a price that will not break the bank. The normal a la carte menu is around double the price but on looking at what this offered, I would say that it again offers good value for money, being a step up in choice with more expensive ingredients. This is a serious restaurant. Go there. You will not be disappointed."
