"We have been in France over two months and in general have been somewhat disappointed with the level of restaurants serving the same duck, foie gras, steak and lamb which apart from a few exceptions have been unexciting. This restaurant was an oh my God, at last experience. Fresh innovative impressive meals. Everything we had was superb. We even looked at the menu deciding what we will have when we return shortly. The restaurant is in a courtyard shared with another restaurant, easy to walk past. Dont keep walking."

Hard to believe its 3 years since I ate at Chez Nico, and the return was excellent. The Vittelo Tonato and the Tataki Tuna were both very good. Look forward to returning soon.

Great food in this restaurant located on nice little square. The food was based on fresh ingredients and was inventive. I would have 5 stars if the service at the end (busy night) became average

This restaurant is in one of the squares in Perigueux - easy to walk past, but don't! The food was really good - I had the cod served on mashed potatoes with a few vegetables and a gambas mousselline sauce. So delicious and fabulous flavour. The service wasn't very speedy, but we weren't in a hurry.

Tucked away in a small courtyard this intimate and informal restaurant delivered a tasty meal of shared tapas starters, magret of duck pink and juicy, a scrummy pork chop and a rum baba. With 2 glasses of wine and an aperitif it came to euros 40 each - not cheap but very pleasant. Charming and attentive service. View menu

We ate here because my husband had to have the oysters... I had the pigeon which was a great choice for me. The wine by the glass was very reasonably priced as were the entrees. Service was excellent, and the chef came to ask if things were to our liking. A young chef and wait staff, all trying very hard to get it right.

I had lunch there with my kids. The "Magret de Canard" was excellent (my mother lives in the region) and it was the best I have had in years. My kids really enjoyed their lunch, their meat was very tender. The wine by the glass was good. As for the desserts we had the "crème brulée pistache" which was nice. The restaurant is not too fancy but it is what it's in the plat that counts !

We have been in France for over a week now and have been desperately looking for good cuisine - finally success! A very nice location in a quiet square and very friendly service. My starter of Ravioli a la gambas was exceptional. My wife's salmon was good although a bit underseasoned. The mains of tuna and duck were fantastic and we had a bottle of very acceptable, well - priced wine.Nous revenons View menu

This restaurant was recommended by The Star Inn. What a fabulous meal we had. I'm a vegetarian and was told this was not a problem. I had soup for starter and winter veg in froth for main course. It was lovely. My partner had snails for starter and fillet steak for main course. He said it was the best steak he has had since we moved to France. Great service and lovely restaurant. We will definitely be returning.

We had the lunchtime formule of three courses for €15 which was pretty good value. The serves were quite small and of fairly cheap cuts of meat used in the parmentier and the terrine, meaning it would be quite cheap to make. However, everything was quite tasty, there was wine by the glass and the service was quite attentive. The other courses mentioned on the carte looked pretty interesting while more expensive than the fixed price menu.
