"For our family, this is a special place where we must always return on visits to Paris. The food is excellent and the service wonderfully attentive. Certainly, it's pricey but not excessively so. As I said in a previous review 'cheapskates keep away'. If you are expecting Chinese takeaway prices you will be sadly disappointed but if you are happy to pay for fine dining in Paris don't let those reviews which concentrate heavily on price put you off. The star of the show for the 3 meat eaters in our family was the Canard Laqué in two servings. The first with pancakes and the second carved from the bone with rice or noodles. The duck is spectacularly carved at the table by the venerable M. Vong himself. My daughter, the non meat eater, had a very nice crevette dish. With dim sum starters, a bottle of Brouilly, rice and noodles plus deserts the bill came to 348€. Not cheap - but worth it. When we left, Monsieur and Madame Vong, together with the head waiter and his deputy all lined up to shake our hands and wish us well - a grand way to end a delicious meal."

The food is excellent. The service is superb. Lovely location in a quiet side street in the bustling Les Halles area. Be warned. It's not cheap. Prepare yourself!

In a seccluded alley, this restaurant turned out to be much bigger than it looked like from the street. Very good traditional Chinese food. Excellent service. Limited winelist a drawback. Definately recommended!

the «Variété de dim-sum» is excellent, as is the crevettes heureuses. the small restaurant is just two stone cubes from the centre pompidou. the address «La grande Truanderie» can be closed on a wide road - misdisplay, it is more a street than a road.

after having enjoyed a very good cuisine at wong, the first time 20 years ago and several times after, it was nice to have a table in this restaurant. What a disappointment. from the service to the dishes nothing has found thanks to our eyes all for a too high price. It was the last time, and it's gonna stay. View menu

Of course it's expensive, very expensive! But it's worth making an effort, for those who like me count. the decor is superb and the dishes absolutely delicious. the wine map is impressive. I would advise to focus on dishes and avoid entries and desserts that can be frustrating, because expensive and frugal, but nevertheless delicious.

pleasant reception, disappointing room: you believe in asie, the service is efficient the kitchen is very good with a special mention for the lacquered duck that is excellent. But it's really too expensive, we had it for 110 euros per head without aperitif and without dessert. It's too much and disproportionate. wines are out of price and it is really a shame not to have a more reasonable wine map; we could then come back...

meals to 3 friends for more than 70€ per person (by choosing the cheapest wine: 35€). raviolis good but not extraordinary, nem correct but without more, on the other hand the imperial duck and the duck with 5 perfumes (25€) were really delicious. On the other hand, it seems quite excessive to pay in addition the accompaniment and especially a bowl of white rice at 13€ even if it is scented to the lotus leaf. same for a bowl of noodles or a Cantonese rice. Correct service but no more but we were offered lith alcohol in digestive. In summary it seems to me that we pay mainly the name and a rather luxurious setting, even if we have eaten well. I have had Peking Duck in every major city in Asia, North America and Europe. My goal is to taste them all. I should write a book. The duck at Chez Vong rates in the top 5. The skin was perfectly cooked and there was not one piece of fat on the skin anywhere. It was done in two servings (albeit the second was not traditional as it did not come with the lettuce wraps).I had only a few complaints. 1) the "pancakes" were silver dollar size. I like the larger ones that you can put more than one piece in. 2) You could only get the whole duck. I also think I upset the young waiter who wanted to make them for me when I told him to go and I would.I would go back here daily except for the expense. For...

A pure scam! this restaurant located rue de la grand truanderie has only merited having been able to choose its address. the flavors are from the level of the Chinese snack at the turn of any street (and again, it is not very nice for snacks),. The portions are tiny. for 117 euros, we ate (to be shared with 2) 4 small nems well fat, 4 small insipid vapor bites, a small salad to the advent (entrance 'out of varied works' to 35 euros),. 6 shrimps each (joy shrimps and shrimp lotus leaves at 28 euros each) and two bowls of dry rice (13 euros the bowl of Cantonese rice or lotus leaf), no drinks or coffee. the servers are trying to compensate by their zeal for the mediocrity of the plates, we hav...
