"Ended up visiting here as a spur of the moment type thing but I was impressed !! The lovely cafe staff were so helpful in navigating around the place, there was service with a smile and a beautiful coffee and delicious cake for dessert. Lady with short hair served us who really knew the menu and by the time we had done ordering our coffees were piping hot and ready by a lady with red hair who was very smiley and kind (sorry i dont no their names) The menu has a lot of variety but we went for the quiche lorraine and croque Monsieur and wow delicious and all topped with beautiful scenery. I will return to see the lovely staff and eat the lovely food very soon … beautiful thanks so much xX"

Afternoon tea for all the family in the Italian Villa, lovely venue and service, the choice of sandwiches and the cakes were excellent

Visited in January 2023 and I was very impressed with the food, however this visit was disappointing! Homemade quiche of the day! Definitely not homemade! Salad bland and uninspiring! Wouldn’t rush back to eat there.

Five of us visited the Compton acres cafe for afternoon tea, we were celebrating my father’s 94th birthday. The afternoon tea, was excellent as was the service and good value for money too. A very pleasant afternoon dad enjoyed it too, definitely recommend

Very busy cafe but you couldn't fault the staff who were friendly abd helpful. We had lunch inside and later a drink outside. Lovely setting and very peaceful. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Next to the compton acres gardens which we'll do next time. View menu

A very disappointing lunch. I have been here before and always enjoyed the food however was disappointed this time, chips very greasy and peas quite dry, there was a large piece of fish but that was all. Felt the choice of toasted sandwiches could have been bigger also very noisy.

This is a surprisingly large cafe with a great range of breakfast options. We visited prior to a stroll through the brilliant gardens. My full English was very tasty. Two hash browns included! My wife enjoyed her freshly baked scone but wasn't as happy with her latte. Quite weak and with a lot of froth. Worth a visit, though.

We had a set Afternoon Tea for 17 people and it was fabulous. Cakes, scones and sandwiches were all homemade and delicious Vegetarians and gluten free all catered for beautifully. Customer Service was excellent, both in the planning and on the actual day. Jade, the manager, was really helpful and other staff were really friendly and made us all very welcome. View menu

Decided to have a coffee before we toured the gardens and later have lunch. Asked for two skinny cappuccino’s and received two tasteless full fat milk cappuccino s. I didn’t drink mine as full fat milk gives me problems. If they didn’t have skimmed milk they should have told us. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Consequently after the gardens we didn’t trust them to give us what we asked for for lunch! Went elsewhere. Also toilets were not up to standard.

Compton Acres Café is a beautiful spot for lunch, tea or cake! The staff are very welcoming and friendly which creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The drinks, although arguably a little expensive, are good and served quickly. The Café has lots of seating options including an outdoor court with a fountain, a 'no-dog ' zone with sofas and a 'dog-friendly ' zone. The Café is decorated with flowers and there is a wide variety of cakes, scones, meals, drinks and treats on offer! I would highly reccomend visiting this café.

"Booked a table of 5 for my birthday dinner. We were promptly seated then immediately asked for drinks orders before even being offered a drinks menu or water. After we had ordered drinks we were being rushed into ordering some food, every two minutes different waiters coming and asking if we are ready to order (at least 7 times). After we did order and the food was brought out, we were then just forgotten about and nobody came over anymore to check if we needed any more drinks (4 out of 5 glasses were empty) or if the food was ok. (It was- but no one checked). After we had finished dining, we still had empty glasses and had to wait 20+ minutes until we eventually stopped a waiter walking past and asked if we could order more drinks. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to come. It was also very disappointing that although we had mentioned on the booking itself that it was for my birthday, there was no acknowledgement of this (I have been before and had received a plate with ‘happy birthday’ written on it in some kind of sauce with a sparkler). My sister even went to ask the woman working on the front desk and received a standoffish attitude back saying no. When the £235 bill came, it even listed ‘birthday plate £0.00’ on it!!! That really let the evening down. The interactions with the staff themselves were great, they were very polite and personable but the actual level of service of being rushed to order and then totally forgotten about really dampened what could have been a fantastic evening."
