"Early supper in the week. Friendly, professional welcome by ? the manager. Shared a starter of crab but it was rather watery and obviously just out of the fridge so not not a great beginning. My main of steak frites was good although the pile of parsley accompanying the main was definitely not the usual rocket and not really that nice. My partner had the chicken and really enjoyed it. The shared tarte tatin was amazing. An enjoyable evening with a complimentary cocktail to make it complete. Eat here often so not put off by the niggles. However, I should have chatted less and asked for the issues to be addressed at the time."

Always excellent, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The eggs were a bit runny, but they were promptly remade and much better the second time around.

I found the waitress working that evening to be quite unpleasant. Her service lacked warmth, with not a single smile but rather a constant grimace throughout our visit. She seemed to be complaining as she moved around, which was not a pleasant sight.

There was a mistake with the order, causing my main course to arrive after everyone else had finished. However, the manager did not charge us for the delayed dish, which was great customer service. While we understand mistakes happen, the lamb I ordered medium was overcooked and my friend's bread was stale, which is unacceptable. This is the first time in years that our beloved restaurant in Sevenoaks has disappointed us.
