"Whilst holidaying in Barga for the last week in July we ate out every evening and this restaurant was the most expensive and the worst meal by far , even my Italian friends from Barga said the food was awful !!!! , the Black Angus Beef was tasteless and the portion was small , the carbonara was also tasteless and the Pasta was thick and rubbery not al dente , but rubbery , we have visited Barga a few times and will return there again but this Restaurant is DEFO off the list of places to eat"

"Unfortunately, our experience here was quite disappointing. Having travelled extensively, I've encountered many tourist traps, but this place stands out for all the wrong reasons. The service was extremely rude. When we had a few questions about the menu, the staff seemed annoyed and unhelpful, making it difficult for us to understand. We decided to just have a drink and leave, but the owner confronted us with a very angry tone, insisting on an additional tourist fee. His lack of decorum and manners was striking, and it left both me and my family with a bad taste. The staff and owner could definitely benefit from improving their hospitality skills."

"Posto carinissimo in centro a Barga, vicinissimo al borgo (consiglio di andare a vederlo, un po' faticoso perché è tutto un sali e scendi ma è veramente particolare e bello) il locale ha una zona dove si mangia e la musica era ad un volume adeguato mentre nel terrazzo sopra un po' più alta per chi era lì per il dopo cena. Abbiamo mangiato tutti hamburger, super buoni la carne era gustosissima e cotta in maniera perfetta, il mio aveva uova, pomodoro, insalata, formaggio, salse e cipolla (la cipolla l'ho cambiato con quella caramellata) mi ha riempito sia per la quantità che per il gusto. Hanno una vasta scelta di birre cosa indispensabile per un pub, i camerieri cortesi attenti e simpatici, come costi sono assolutamente nella norma se non qualcosa meno per un'ottima qualità. Mi è piaciuto molto e quando torno a trovare il mio amico ci rivado sicuramente."

"At a time when most « eateries » can’t call them restautants) are serving the same menu everywhere charcuterie platters, pinse, tartare steak , tacos, and so forth, Booooring) this is a real restaurant. There are a couple of other good ones in Barga one serving traditional Tuscan dishes which are excellent, and another specializing in fish, while Scacciaguai has wisely chosen to have more sophisticated dishes, and it was refreshing. Kudos to the young owners. The ambiance is pleasant and intimate, the service is smiling and friendly. Riccardo is extremely competent with the wines. They have an extensive wine list, focusing on Tuscan wines and even more on the local ones from Lucca province. Prices range from 11 Euros to well over 100 for some of the Tuscan reds so there is something for everyone. We chose a nice Poggio dei Paoli from Tenuta Lenzi at 22 Euros and it was perfect. Food: Both Porcini and Truffles from the Garfagnana have arrived, and I love both. I started out with the best way to eat truffles: two fried eggs. The eggs were perfectly cooked the white firm and the yolk pleasantly runny. The truffle shavings on top were just right. My friend opted for potato gnocchi filled with sheep ricotta with sauteed grape tomatoes. We followed that with guinea fowl breast cooked sous vide and roast friggitelli peppers. Finished off with a chocolate soufflee filled with melted chocolate. A digestif was offered on the house. A really lovely experience. well worth going back The price was right too of course it wasn’t cheap, but the food wasn’t either: Excellent quality ingredients, Excellent chef. Bravo!"

"Lascio subito la mia impressione di massima che è sufficiente ma non di più. Non ho trovato nulla di così speciale da potermi far venire voglia di tornare. Personale assolutamente gentile. L'antipasto della casa mi è piaciuto soprattutto per i salumi ed il formaggio, i crostini non li ho trovati così speciali ma sufficientemente buoni. La tagliata coi funghi porcini buona ma è arrivata tiepida e alla fine era fredda. Vino della casa più che accettabile. Se dovessi tornare spero di trovare qualcosa di più."
