"We booked as part of a large group and were so excited. We were given our own room, which was fantastic, but just went from bad to worse. The room looks like a dire meeting room. The waiter spoke broken English but he tried his best (this was not an issue as i wouldn't expect someone to speak my language abroad) but was quite rude and would start taking an order then walk away - very bizarre. It took us around 30 minutes to order lunch and a soft drink (in the end we won'tr it on a napkin for him) as everything we wanted from the menu we couldn't have. Very strange as there were only around 5 items that were actually served at lunch and we had booked this weeks in advance so we weren't asking for anything special.Apparently they had run out of everything and the chef had gone home so refused to make anything else. It just didn't make sense. In the end we went for quiche but even that was limited and some of us had to share a slice - very poor considering the price of around 11 Euros for a slice of quiche. When it did arrive it was very nice, but we would've eaten anything by that point. When the drinks came, they were wrong but just went with it as it was too much hard work to change anything. One of the main things we came for was the macaroons, but it was so bad that we decided to just order them over the counter downstairs and go as we had already been 2 or 3 hours and we got a slice of quiche and drink at best. When we ordered them the girl serving us was very good and professional (the redeeming factor) but at one point we were in the middle of ordering and an elderly lady came in pushed to the front and the waitress said she wanted to serve her first! Then we got told off taking a photo of the macaroon stand, which many had already taken a picture of. It was so bad it was actually funny. It felt like we were in Faulty Towers. I understand this may be out of character for the restaurant, which makes it even weirder and i have never written a review less than 3/4 stars so really is a first for me too. There are a lot better places for macaroons all over Paris so go elsewhere or takeaway."

If you take part in a tasting tour of macaroons, you will want to include dalloyau in your itinerary.

We went there for the good recommendation of pastries. We ended up having lunch, my fiancé had cod and I had a steak.

Very original, famous, legendary place that serves a very good coffee and amazing pastries. I am not sure I will return there specifically but I am very lucky to visit that nice place. View menu

Classic Parisian pastry shop with the most delicious pastries beautifully presented. I lived in Paris in the early 1980's. Unlike some of its longtime competitors, Dalloyau is still excellent. Recommended highly.

We reserved this place on TripAdvisor's TheFork and got a discount of 20%. Located just outside Luxembourg Gardens, Dalloyao serves some yummy macaroons and lovely hot chocolate too. The staff was very polite and courteous and we had a pleasant experience here.

Ok, ok, Dalloyau is so expensive, it makes your eyes water. BUT, it also makes you drool... It's the crème de la crème of, well, stuff made with different crèmes.. it's Pastry Mecca ! Any favorite pastry in here ? Look, try first the cheaper viennoiseries (croissants, chocolates croissants, etc.)... you'll get hooked ! View menu

With 2 friends we had lunch at Dalloyau Luxembourg. At the second level after the boutique there is a quiet room with nice views on the fontain and on the garden of Luxembourg. The menu was fine but unfortunately several dishes were not possible to be served, surprisingly the classical croque monsieur was not available. Therefore we had tomato and cheese croque monsieur, tarama and a salad. It was good but small, really small. Excellent cake more generous. The ambiance is a little bit old fashioned but charming and the service was nice and efficient.

To me, Dalloyau has some of the best Macarons in Paris. At my young daughter's urging, we went on a little Macaroon hunting tour, going to Dalloyau, Laduree, and Pierre Herme on three separate days and ate to our hearts content. Make no mistake, they are all excellent. However, Laduree was extremely crowded and the store felt like a conveyor belt for packed customers. One felt obligated to make the choices instantly because the next customer is breathing down your neck. Pierre Herme was not as crazy, but their choices of flavors were too fancy to my liking. Dalloyau offered a very relaxed experience, and the flavors were simple and old-fashioned. Personally I also like their texture the best...
