"We booked as part of a large group and were so excited. We were given our own room, which was fantastic, but just went from bad to worse. The room looks like a dire meeting room. The waiter spoke broken English but he tried his best (this was not an issue as i wouldn't expect someone to speak my language abroad) but was quite rude and would start taking an order then walk away - very bizarre. It took us around 30 minutes to order lunch and a soft drink (in the end we won'tr it on a napkin for him) as everything we wanted from the menu we couldn't have. Very strange as there were only around 5 items that were actually served at lunch and we had booked this weeks in advance so we weren't asking for anything special.Apparently they had run out of everything and the chef had gone home so refused to make anything else. It just didn't make sense. In the end we went for quiche but even that was limited and some of us had to share a slice - very poor considering the price of around 11 Euros for a slice of quiche. When it did arrive it was very nice, but we would've eaten anything by that point. When the drinks came, they were wrong but just went with it as it was too much hard work to change anything. One of the main things we came for was the macaroons, but it was so bad that we decided to just order them over the counter downstairs and go as we had already been 2 or 3 hours and we got a slice of quiche and drink at best. When we ordered them the girl serving us was very good and professional (the redeeming factor) but at one point we were in the middle of ordering and an elderly lady came in pushed to the front and the waitress said she wanted to serve her first! Then we got told off taking a photo of the macaroon stand, which many had already taken a picture of. It was so bad it was actually funny. It felt like we were in Faulty Towers. I understand this may be out of character for the restaurant, which makes it even weirder and i have never written a review less than 3/4 stars so really is a first for me too. There are a lot better places for macaroons all over Paris so go elsewhere or takeaway."
