"Have vacationed in Altea for the month of November. We’ve visited Altea many times before but always by the marina area. On our 1st morning in Altea this year we vacationed just off Calle del Conde de Altea and on our way to find the Mercadona we ran into El Copernico, the perfect place to drop in for a cafe con leche and baguette. We had the great privilege of meeting Pilar. We were amazed that Pilar does it all! Makes all the coffees fresh and the food, cleans up and does the dishes! Pilar’s personality and service are a rare find not to mention her delicious food. You are assured you are getting fresh food as early a.m. you can see Pilar with her shopping bag picking up that days food from the fresh meat market down the street or at Consum. El Copernico became our regular breakfast establishment. The light music varies from jazz to oldies. El Copernico is a must try. It is located just a minute from the Garganes Tram station heading towards Calle del Conde de Altea towards the sea front! If you stop by tell her April say hi from Florida!"

un lugar muy agradable, su terraza en el paseo peatonal hace que no sea el lugar un tumulto como está enfrente de la plaza del ayuntamiento. el tratamiento muy bueno y servir en varios idiomas.

Each time we have visitors, we always take them to El Copernico. Pilar, who is the owner, cook, waitress, dishwasher, etc. Etc....... Pilar is always very welcoming and friendly, even when very busy. I would like to 'bottle ' Pilar, and offer a sample to some cafes which don 't offer the same service! The coffee is always good (and hot! And the food tasty and generous. With jazz (cd playing in the background, El Copernico is the perfect choice for those wanting to sample some good, honest and sincere hospitality. View menu

Ive lived in Altea for years and I keep coming back to the Copernico. Run by a friendly family. The food is always freshly cooked and delicious. Its restaurant quality at this little cafe. Jazz and big band music play gently while you enjoy their house wine. Which in my opinion is a better quality of wine than i am usually served. I bring my children here sometimes after school and they love it. It is tucked away from the hussle and bussel of the main square and offers a quiet getaway. Ill keep on coming back as the service is second to none.

Being tucked away in pedestrianised side street, you could be forgiven for not knowing about El Copernico. However, once you have visited once, I 'm sure you 'll keep coming back! With tables in the street, you can 'people watch ' or just watch the world go by, listening to the great sound of jazz emanating from the café. Or, sit inside this intimate café, displaying paintings from local artists: the choice is yours! The owner, Pilar, runs El Copernico almost singlehandedly, from 8 a.m to 8 p.m Monday to Saturday, serving great food and drinks. So, if you are looking for breakfast, lunch....or even just a café con leche and cake, El Copernico should be on your radar!

Whether you 'd prefer breakfast, lunch, or even just a coffee, El Copernico, would be my 'go to ' café, in this part of Altea. Always presented with a friendly smile and welcome, from the owner, Pilar, the food and drinks are always wonderful. With the great jazz music playing in the background, this is one of Altea 's cafés to visit! El Copernico may not be somewhere you 'd see, by walking through the main thoroughfare of the Avenida, as it 's tucked away on the left side of the pedestrianised Calle Constitución, almost opposite the Ayuntamiento (town hall) offices. There are tables outside as well as in. Inside the café, artwork is on display, from local artists. Although there are many ca... View menu

My partner and I have visited El Copernico many times, during the past few weeks. The owner runs the cafe, almost single-handedly, with regular daily help from her son; they are both charming! She not only cooks and prepares the food, but also serves at the tables. The cafe is an intimate venue, with seating inside and also outside in the pedestrianised street it occupies. With jazz music playing in the background, El Copernico, is a relaxing cafe, where you can enjoy a range of food and drinks, including the best fried and scrambled eggs in Altea! Art from local painters is displayed in the cafe and this is a very popular venue for locals; always a good sign! For anyone visiting Altea, I wo...

I always find it incredible how one person can almost singlehandedly run such a great café! One could easily walk along the Avinguda Rei en Jaume I, without even noticing El Copernico, tucked away in a pedestrianised street. It is almost opposite Altea's Ayuntamiento (town hall and is reached within a few seconds of walking down Calle Constitucion. My sister was visiting and we decided to treat ourselves to a desayuno in El Copernico. She chose the tostada with tomato and manchego cheese and I just had to have my favourite of huevos revueltos (scrambled eggs with sliced tomatoes, sprinkled with mixed herbs. As if this wasn't enough, I forced myself to have some patatas fritas. : Accompanied...
