"Shocking customer service in the cafe today. Three members of staff all rude and inpatient, leading to them getting our order wrong as they were not listening properly. When we questioned the server who brought the food she was really not pleasant or helpful and her tone was unacceptable. Customer service skills don't appear to be a prority at Fairways! Prices were extremely high £8.50 for a very small quiche and a bit of salad. Tables were sticky. Will not be returning!"

Love this nursery. We always visit en route to my son and daughter in law for coffee and cake. Off day though today. Dirty unwiped tables! Really poor, and it’s not cheap! View menu

Loved this place ... it was supposed to be for a quick coffee but it has many marvellous ideas especially at this time of year regarding decorations, gifts for all the family, plants and homeware. Do visit if you have the chance ... ps great coffee and cakes too !

A very nice garden centre, just the right size with a range of good varied products. The restaurant has a good range of hot food, healthy type meals and a large selection of cakes cookies. Very nice with a lovely view over the countryside from one end of the restaurant and an outdoor dining area at the other end. View menu

Only wanted toast!! No catering toaster just one you would use at home! Therefore extremely long wait for two slices. Arrived cold rock hard with one slice burnt the hell out of! Come on Fairways this is not acceptable get your act together buy a better toaster and train your staff better on how to cook toast please.

"In the beginning, God created many things from Monday to Saturday and on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. Or did he? No. No he didn’t. On the seventh day God created Bennys. This biblical reference does not do justice to just how divine a Bennys is. It is a kebab/pizza/fast food shop steeped in glory and mystery. Some scholars have actually considered Bennys as the final resting place of both the ark of the covenant and the Lance of the Longinus. If Dan Brown has written another book, I have no doubt Bennys would have featured because the food is so good. I have been to Bennys three times a holy trinity of visits. Each time I have opted for a seminal chicken kebab. The chicken has been fresh and plump and proper (a bird sacrificed for the grace of our plates). The spices have oozed with flavour, cleansing my very soul. The pitta has been strong and resolute in its carrying of the other constituent items of perfection. The salad has been clean, cutting through the spice, to reclaim the innocence of my tastebuds for another spiritual bite. The hot sauce has teased my palate (and my perineum) with a fiery wet heat of a culinary miracle. The chips have been a hybrid of soft and crispy, like a kettle chip which has had an illegitimate child with a cloud. And the garlic mayonnaise, oh yes the garlic mayonnaise, embodies the fulcrum of the holy trinity of God. I believe in a church. The church of Bennys. It is wholesome, it is great, it guides me to the green pastures of hope, away from the barren epoch of servitude you get with other late night food venues. Benny was the 13th apostle and he founded his church here in Ashbourne. I once saw a drunk 19 year old get hit by a 2013 Renault Twingo outside of Bennys. Was he hurt? Was he maimed? No, a beam of alabaster white light transcending mind and soul came out of Bennys as it happened. He walked again. It’s not my place to say, but if that accident had happened anywhere else, I don’t think he would have lived. To me, Bennys is more than a kebab shop. Maj and the boys run one hell of an establishment. Just like Derbyshire was home to the Arkwright mills and the birthplace of the industrial revolution, it is home to Bennys my church. While the Arkwright Mills had consequences for the direction of mankind, so too, to a far greater extent, does Bennys. Fun fact: just down the road from Ashbourne is Belper where Timothy Dalton grew up."
