"On our tour through the Dahner Rockland we passed the Hotel Felsentor. We also had this hotel on the internet nice homepage! looking for accommodation. It was just the best coffee time, so braking, parking in front of the hotel and walking in. A young man at the reception welcomed us kindly and gave us the way to the left in the “Crämerladen mit Omas Küche”. Magnificent! Not like a hip modern store, just like it's everywhere. The restaurant on the right is still closed, but also looks very welcoming. The tables already covered cleanly. The time seems to have stayed in the crämerladen around the turn of the century. Omas flower gold rim dishes, collecting cups, table silver, lace tops, the appropriate furniture including kitchen cabinet and stove are not missing. We take place on the window with wooden bench and thick pillows. The cafe card is out and you will learn something next door. For example, you can buy the dishes, cutlery, jams, sausage etc. in the store. We are allowed to slew in peace and the Lord in service is right back. My husband decides for the wind bag to € 3,80. According to map filled with cherries and cream. It follows that today there are fresh strawberries on request. So then: Please with fresh strawberries. A box of coffee, € 4.20. I'm not hungry yet, I don't have to drive. So for me a glass of very good dry Grauburgunder on recommendation of the employee to € 3,80 0,25 l. A dream of wind bag is served. Freshly filled, the firedough loose, airy. Indoor strawberries and cream. The boss is not only cook, but also learned confectioner. No doubt. My husband said that this was certainly the best wind bag he was ever allowed to enjoy... and there were many : . There is a lot to discover with the many antiques in Omas Stube. In Omas kitchen there are regional and almost forgotten. On the map: Grumbeerpannekiechl, Griesknepp, Gäälrieweschdambes, Majorangrumbeere, Sauerbroode, Läwwerknepp... You may even wish with a pre-registration. Salads, rustic Saumagen was awarded 2 x on an international Saumagen competition and soups are not missing. The menu of the restaurant is more upscale, ingenious and interchangeable and can be seen. Outside there is a beautiful beer garden. We were very friendly. The boss also greeted briefly and cordially. We remember the rock gate!"

House/stem guests are unfortunately preferably served. Not suitable for fast snack. Operation after kitchen opening overwhelms and forgets to serve guests.

Unfortunately, with the exception of one waitress who made a reasonable effort, the service was really poor and absolutely unfriendly! Food selection was also a bit of a flop, definitely not worth the money! Service: 2 View menu

With 5 adults and 3 children we spent a night together at the Waldhotel Felsentor for a birthday. We were there for the first time and certainly not the last time. We the grandparents had a very spacious, quiet room with a balcony, shower, separate toilet, walk in closet. Everything was meticulously clean, functional, simply perfect for a 3 star hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening at a table lovingly set with starched cloth napkins. The dishes we selected tasted excellent and were prepared in a star class kitchen style. The buffet style breakfast was plentiful. Overall, a recommendable house with a very good price/performance ratio. We w... View menu

"Looking for a lunch along the B10 we traveled more often, this time we landed in Hauenstein, in the village dowel, which is easy to find if after the signs to the German Shoe Museum. The two guest rooms were very rural, with any kind of regional reference, such as a fully grown, dangerous owner Elwetritsch (bestia palatinensis), who aimed one from the corner at once. The shoe museum of course also welcomed. The service was efficient and warm, especially the boss, who was very concerned about the welfare of their guests, also as fresh as we are. Because in the main room there was quite a bite, she led us into a semi-open space that we could share with real rabbits and filled poultry. With the timing we were also lucky: before and after us the restaurant was taken up by two large groups even older rulers. In between we had the kitchen for a short moment. We chose a rather spicy lunch: My wife for the Rumpsteak Dracula, which was not so called because of his bloodiness, but because she was served with a weekly ration of freshly squeezed garlic in oil (Anti Dracula would have been better suited), I would like to see why so-called ghost scars, i.e. pig medals in garlic sauce. For safety reasons, I have further raised this with garlic in order not to endanger mutual passion. We both were really spooky, especially because the meat was so good. A salad came to the mouth of the mind you yourself made of two iron bottles with cream dressing or Vinaigrette could be a good idea as I find. But I would have a little suggestion: It could not be bad to serve the sauce in addition to the medallions. Since everything came in a pan, the pommes were completely dimmed at the end, but they could not keep them from being completely fed. A recommendation that locals obviously no longer need, but perhaps travelers between Landau and Pirmasens."
