"This is an apfelwein place and a delightful one, part of the culinary heart of the town. (Of course they have plenty of beer I found excellent welcome and excellent accommodation, and the apple wine was top-notch. I had the white bean soup since it...was cold and rainy outside. It was superb, just what the weatherman ordered. Then I had the Rump-steak covered in onion with a side of I've forgotten quite what. This all turned out to be too much to eat. The food was utterly abundant, but I have to say, the steak was not all that tasty (and this is not a steakhouse). The hearty soup was glorious."

Food in Frankfurt can be very hit and miss but you can always rely on this place to deliver good, classic regional cuisine. Brisk, friendly service and a nice crowd would recommend for tourists and locals alike.

Had in this restaurant a quick dinner. The outside terrace is great and the food simple (in the positive meaning) and delicious! Price is also reasonable. Service was great. Friendly guy. All in all , highly recommended and for sure will eat here again.

Delicious Frankfurt specialities for reasonable prices. Grilled ribs and ox breast were delicious. Staff is not friendly, however the place has great atmosphere and it’s definitely worth visiting. Regarding apple wine, one glass for couple is enough to try.

Me and my friends really enjoyed having dinner. Me and my sister had some kind of soup and then steak. Soup was fantastic and steak not so much. Our friends had some meat and of course beer. They said it was also very good. Great...place for group of friends and very reasonable price.

Fichtekränzi is one of the many traditional pubs/ restaurants in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen which offers typical Frankfurt cuisine and ‘Apfelwein’ which is similar to cider. The atmosphere is lively and fun. Gegrilltes Rippchen (Grilled pork chop), Grüne Soße (Green Sauce w potatoes and boiled eggs) and...Handkäse mit Musik (Marinated cheese with onions and cumin) are my absolute favourites.

Not far from the tourist paths. And yet, mainly locals eat here. Great, rustic atmosphere, great, fresh Apfelwein (cider), hearty Frankfurt dishes, (classic and ambitious). My favorite: Stir-fried tartare with fried potatoes and sweet onions. Then Handkäs with caraway and of course the medlar schnapps....In summer, the secluded garden lures under old trees. In addition a very friendly service team with a quaint host.

It was a bust Saturday evening but just of us we did not need to book they managed to seat us straight away. These are traditional style long tables benches where they can usually find you a place. Better for larger...groups to book however. Traditional German style fare on offer mostly meats worth going for the local experience. We had grilled tartare pork knuckles. All well cooked tasty. Apfel wine (local cider) is the drink of choice here though also beers etc on offer. Price is very reasonable.
