"Firstly, I think some of the reviews on this page are a bit confused. This is not the open air fischmarkt that takes place on a Sunday morning. This is a restaurant, and they are not in the same location. The restaurant is really lovely an the food was simply delicious. Having looked online, I thought the restaurant looked a bit dated and I wasn't convinced, but it looks much nicer not in the pictures! We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was full, so booking is advised. The food was beautiful - fish cooked absolutely to perfection, beautifully presented and totally delicious! Would highly recommend. It's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive either. We paid around 120 euros for two people - two courses each, a bottle of wine and coffee."

Had an excellent meal of plaice and a pike-perch. Both very fresh and well presented. Good service, recommended for a quality classic meal but not overly exciting.

Very good food but poor services. We waited 30 mn between entree and main course. Then no one came after desert to propose coffee. We left after another 15 mn wait. To bad.

I couldn't agree more about his place. Especially for its quality. I came far away from Asia only to see this attraction. Nothing better than having a fresh fish from overseas and eat that.

We came due to good reviews but found a very unfriendly restaurant. They did not make any effort for communicating in other languages than German only. The waitress messed with our two orders. Nothing right and very very slow.

Excellent fish restaurant. Made to feel very much at ease by our Waiter who liked Shakespeare and Byron! Our meal was faultless. I had the three course 'Surprise menu' and was not disappointed. Not cheap but certainly good value.

We ate dinner at this restaurant, as it was close to our hotel. The fish was all very fresh. Service was a bit slow, but that was the case in most places during our visit. Prices were a little steep, but overall a very good meal. A safe bet.

The waitresses are too busy and it took a long time for us to be "noticed".I asked for a fried fish, but got steamed and the waiter could not even understand my complaint.Totally over priced. Small portion of food for a lot of money. And the taste was poor.

We had an excellent meal with very fresh and well presented food . Good service ! Excellent wine list ! As we are fond of Riesling we asked for a bottle of PRINZSALM - 2015 Riesling Kabinett, which was of excellent quality !! Nevertheless I think that the price is a bit to high for what we got !!

This isn't your ordinary market. Starting at 05.00 on Sunday morning you'll find early birds, party goers (the Reeperbahn is close by) and folks just trying to get high quality seafood. For the restless, the Fischauktionshalle offers beer, food and live music to have the show go on. Standing on the pier next to it and watching the sun rise over Hamburg is a must. The real attraction, however, are the many merchants selling you anything from bananas to delicious fish. Their to-the-point attitude is really refreshing. Beware: they're going to sell you more than you wanted.Enjoy!
