"We booked a table for 15:00 on 8/10/23. When we arrived we were advised by the bar maid that they had a big table of people so that the food would be slightly delayed. We ordered our food at 15:05 after ordering drinks at the bar. We were sat on table number 106 which is located outside. We waited and waited and nothing came out. We in fact were presented with 1 meal (when there was 2 of us), which turned out to have been brought to the incorrect table! It got to 16:15 and I went inside to ask where our food was. I was then told by a different bar maid to the original one that the resturant had ran out of pork so the roast one of us had ordered could not be made. Why nobody told us that originally, I don 't know! To make things worse, one of the young waitress ' said that she had been waiting for the pork roast to be ready for over 40mins and neither she or anyone else decided to come and tell us! We ended up asking for a refund and even then, no one behind the bar knew how to issue one! It really was the worst customer service I have ever had anywhere. The worst part was not that we were starving, but it had gone past 4pm which means all the supermarkets were closed as it was on a Sunday so we couldn 't even go buy dinner from there! No one cared at all. They were happy to see us go. Absolutely pathetic service and I will be leaving this review on every platform I can, until I get a response from the 5 bells."

An excellent meal and fantastic service, the kitchen catered for my friend's dietary needs as she is gluten intolerant. I had the Haddock fish cakes, amazing, I would happily eat here again.

This charming and cozy pub has a welcoming staff and a good atmosphere. We stopped by on our way home and will definitely return for a meal next time, as we saw many delicious dishes being served.

I visited the Five Bells for a drink and found the place to be warm and cozy. I sat at a table by the fireplace, where the manager made sure the fire stayed lit. I would definitely recommend the Five Bells to friends and family, as the atmosphere is lovely and the staff is friendly.

Stayed the night, room was clean and fine. Evening Menu looked good and my dinner was ok. Garlic Bread flimsy and tepid in temperature. Worst bit were the staff who were a pretty unfriendly bunch. Bad language from the locals which you don't really want to hear while you are having a quiet bite to eat and drink.

Nice pub but very badly managed We were told by waitress upon entry to an empty restaurant that 3 starters, 4 mains and 2 desserts were off the menu, not a good start. Waited 45 minutes for food to be served, no condiments available! When questioned the supervisor agreed it was bad management and the pub had gone right down hill and had a succession of useless managers!! We had a voucher for 30% off the food so compensated for an awful meal in an empty restaurant!

Booked online a table for 4 for 4.45pm. Arrived seated at table waitress never came over to take drinks order. Went to bar to order drinks. Still no waitress went to bar to order mains, told to go back to table as waitress will take order. Waited a while then waitress arrived and took order. Main very slow in coming out. Finished mains and then wanted to order desert. Again no waitress around went to bar to order desert only to be told that the kitchen was closed as only open till 5pm . No body told us this on arrival good job we ordered a mains as would have been really disappointed if we had first had a starter to then be told kitchen closed. Appalling customer services will not be going b...

My family and I had an absolutely terrible experience at this restaurant for a birthday celebration. It took 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive, and our roast dinners took a whopping 90 minutes. All four plates had cold vegetables and gravy, and some were missing key components like Yorkshire pudding and parsnips. When we complained, we were only given the options of leaving or eating as is, with no offer to reheat or provide a different meal. Despite the reserved area not being overly busy, it was clear that there were issues in the kitchen and with the service as customers were having to go to the bar to order their food. While we have enjoyed good meals here in the past, we will not be r...

The service was good when we arrived, for seated earlier than the 2pm booking and advised that there may be a wait as there was a table of 10 due at 1pm. Lady came and took our food order. All food came in dribs and drabs. Nobody ate together, the two children waited until last for 2 pizzas which we had to go to the bar and ask for. The roast beef was like boot leather. Carrots were raw and the potatoes were raw. We asked for pork crackling, which didn’t come. 2 extra Yorkshire puddings, which didn’t come. My son’s chips with his pizza were so hard my husband asked for another portion. After placing our order nobody came to the table to ask for more drinks or water, we had to go to the bar....
