"We just spent a week in/around Bavaria. At the end of our trip, we wanted to stay close to the airport to make it easy to catch our morning flight. Instead of opting to go back to the Augustiner Braustuben (as a friend recommended), near Munich City Center to brave the Christmas market crowd, we found Gasthof Wanderer on TripAdvisor. The location is not far from the airport and in a (safe) residential area -- do not be discouraged!Even though we showed up late on a Sunday night (8:40pm), the hostess was very gracious and led us to a table after verifying with the chef. Wow! Absolutely no regrets about our choice!! We wanted traditional Bavarian dishes. I expected brats & potatoes. Instead, we got roast duck on purple cabbage with potato dumplings & pork knuckle wrapped in bacon on a bed of schpatzl. It was delicious!! The duck was crispy outside and not greasy inside. The orange sauce, "very Christmas" the server advised, was a great compliment to the duck and dumpling. The pork was tender and the spatzle was flavorful with the right balance between sauce & cheese. For dessert, we had warm chocolate cake with lemon sorbet & mixed berries. It wasn't too sweet. No one flavor overpowered the others. It was a clean, simple end to a great meal. Downed a bottle of red wine (Cotes-du-Rhone) over the course of our meal. The hostess was beyond gracious even though we (and another table lingered) were the last to leave. Highly recommend if you've got time near Munich airport. It won't disappoint!"

The place was great for a dinner with a group of people. We used the bowling facilities and it was great fun. The food was very good and the service friendly.

Erding best international menu and dine out experience. From the first time to the last excellent food, wine and service. A nice range of food from great steaks to duck to Constantine's burger.

I just loved it!! A bit difficoult to find due to its location with no map, but WORTH it! Seated outside, very calm, excellent to enjoy a summer evening. Food was great, a bit more expensive than other restourants atownd but well wort it (not to excesive as expected die to trip advisor expense rate). If you have the chance do go!

A great restaurant located amidst houses. At first I really thought the address was wrong but the restaurant was there. Typical german food and very good. The salad and the dressing were great as was the schnitzel and french fries. The establishment was very clean and the staff very friendly. Great presentation of food on the plate.

Hidden in a residential neighborhood, this restaurant has superb food. We were lucky to have arrived early in the evening--30 minutes after our arrival, LOTS of people without reservations were being turned away. Our waiter Michael, did the work of 3 average waiters, yet still had time to smile and joke with us. Not to be missed if you are in Erding.

A gem of a restaurant. A bit off the beaten path as it is down an alley near the edge of town. Anyone that wants to stay near the Munich airport and wants to eat quality German food near where they are staying will want to dine here. The proprietor is from Slovakia and has kept the tradition of authentic German cuisine as a top priority. They take credit cards, which is not always the case with some.

This restaurant is the worst we ever visited We arrived 1 minute after 9 checking from TripAdvisor that the operating hours are until 11pmThey refused our seating telling that the kitchen closes at 9 ie 1minute earlier We explained them that we had lost our flight and payed 25 euros in Uber but The manager and the employees were extremely rood and just wanted to go homeEven Public Sector employees in Africa work more and better They lost 100 Euro we were supposed to spend there On addition the place is very dirty and terrible but your solutions when left near Munich Airport are limited IN THE END it's better not to eat at all than to eat there

We booked a table for a Sunday lunchtime based upon the reviews here on TripAdvisor. The restaurant is in a primarily residential part of Erding, so well worth knowing where you are going before you set off. There is parking for 4 or 5 cars, but that’s about it – we were lucky :-). We received a friendly welcome & were seated outside. The place was quite busy, although you didn’t get the feeling that it was so. The menu afforded plenty of choices, which was added to by the daily specials. We chose our meals from the main menu & were not disappointed!!! Both meals were nicely presented & (very!) plentiful – so much so that I could only manage to eat half of mine (the other half they boxed-up...
