Very cozy, excellent cuisine, everything we freshly prepared, very good value for money with friendly service.

Great food, friendly people in real German atmosphere. We had a great time in an excellent restaurant! Recommendation: spargel!

The restaurant is serving traditional local food as well as drinks. You can seat outside as well. There is someone who speaks english and can explain you the menu, as it is only in german. The dessert is also very good the apply pie...with vanilla ice cream was delicious. The food is really good and well served.

Food from the regional Nassauer card is excellent and very well matched! Onion soup, harp, celestial and earth with bloodworms and salty claws with twilight and cream. A great experience! And the service was also very friendly! Within 10 minutes we were asked by four different people whether everything was right.

We were looking for a restaurant very late to eat a little bite. The inn to the pipe was still well visited despite the late hour.We were very kindly received in the small rustic inn.Of course there was also something to eat. I chose the baked Camembert with fried parsley, cranberries and toast. However, the idea that Petersilie was kicked has irritated me for the first time.My initial scepticism followed a taste experience that I can only recommend to everyone.The place itself is very rustically accommodated in an old half-timbered house and is already very friendly. Die Auswahl und das Essen waren sehr gut. Preisleistung stimmt. Leider war der Service unterirdisch. Wichtig ist zu unterscheiden, dass es nicht an der Bedienung lag, das arme Mädchen hat bis auf leichte Unterstützung von einem jungen Mann (der an dem Tag den 1. Arbeitstag hatte) über 50 Gäste bewirtet!!!!! Wir haben lange gewartet bis wir Getränke bestellen konnten, dann noch länger bis das Essen bestellt werden konnte. Das Essen kam nach über 1 Stunde. Die Wirtin hätte sich persönlich entschuldigen müssen, bzw vielleicht auch eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit spendieren können. Garnichts! Wir werden hier nicht mehr hingehen.

I really recommend this small but really beautiful place in the historical Aldstad of Idstein. Everything has the taste of traditional home kitchen, from the furniture to the dishes. Different options from German kitchen where to chose from and a nice blackboard with the dishes...of the day, all from the area and all fresh made. The spargelcreme with Salmon that I had was more than delicious, so was the pork meat with strawberry or ribes sauce. The service was helpful and friendly and they tried to explain us the information of the main dishes also in English. Allow yourself some time cause the dishes are made at the moment and so they can take a while.

I visited Idstein last autumn on the proposal of an employee and was disappointed when Zur Peif was closed. The pictures and reviews on Tripadvisor drew me and we finally came there a few weeks ago with some relatives who were visited by the states. It was cool and rainy, so when we went in, it was a welcome answer from the elements. Iris, the owner, took care of us and she was much fun - she dedicated us to the history of the house and restaurants, the local hessian cuisine and the jazz festival in July among others.
