"A lovely old thatched pub a short walk from the station at Hanborough. I ate beef in a brioche bun with fried and salad, all cooked to perfection. The bar staff were friendly, chatty and on-point with attentive service throughout. It was a fresh but not chilly Octpber day so I sat outside in the spacious, well landscaped garden. There is also ample seating at the front of the pub and a separate indoor dining area. The pub us ideal for families with plenty of space for children to run around safely. I'd definitely come back with my wife but the pub also ideal for large groups and would be a perfect place for a Christmas or Bank Holiday meal. There is an Aunt Sally course for playing that traditional Oxfordshire game and also a sandpit for the kids. I arrived by train but there is also a car park with a number of spaces."

Nice enough place. We were a party of 3 and it was our first night in the area. The currys ordered were underwhelming and expensive, the burger was nice. The staff and service were excellent and we would go back but not for the curry.

We stopped at the George Dragon on a Sunday without a reservation and were welcomed warmly by the staff. The food was fist class and the staff were faultless. I've eaten here several time and it's always been a pleasure enhanced by the lovely staff. Very highly recommended. View menu

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I paid £19 for the pie of the day, but it had very little meat and the pastry was greasy and tasted like cardboard. It was served with a small portion of bland mashed cabbage and a few pieces of potato. I would not even feed this meal to my dog.

Our search for a pub to eat near Blenheim Palace lead us here and we are so pleased it did! The service and food were fantastic! Three of our party chose the dirty burger and said it was the best burger ever! Being a veggie, I had stuff mushroom with a side of cheesey chips! Delicious! We would highly recommend a meal here!

Enjoyed a wonderful meal with family and friends. This pub is full of character and charm with a cosy bar and a bright dining area. Everybody was delighted with their meals and the server was friendly and attentive. It’s a shame it’s not our local as we would certainly be regulars! We will look forward to visiting again soon. A very cosy pub with friendly staff. We arrived on a Wednesday evening to sample their tapas (3 for 2) and weren't disappointed. We are both vegetarian and there were just enough options for us. The food was tasty and the prices about right. Would return. Only criticism is that I wish there were just a couple more veggie options.

What a beautiful pub. First time here and met David and his fab team, who were very welcoming and accommodating to us. You can tell the pub is well cared for, as it was very clean and tidy, We were able to sit outside in the beautiful garden due to the weather being beautiful. Would 100% recommend to visit and will definitely be returning. Thank you to David and the team once again!

"A lovely place to enjoy a meal with friends, the food was excellent, surrounds amazing, enhanced by great decor of tasteful Christmas touches. This place had the feel of a fantastic country pub, the service was fine as well. So what took the polish off my visit, as everything I’ve said so far has been positive? There are a couple of things that’s left a bad taste in my mouth; the first is the price, obviously you expect to pay for quality, however, I feel that this particular ‘bird’ was taking a bit more seed than it needed. I was charged £4 for a pint of blackcurrant and soda, with ice admittedly, however I felt it was extortionate, I might as well of had an alcoholic drink for those sort of prices. The other thing I know caused the leader of our group some anxiety, and inconvenience to the rest of us, which was that the ‘card reader’ wasn’t working. The ways to pay were cash or bank transfer. Please, if this happens let the people who have booked know, so that they can ensure they have cash, and can let the rest of us know. Nowadays who carries cash? Not many of us, as it caused us all to limit our drinks orders. Bad for us, and bad for business. So let people know in advance, or the very least post it on your website. Good management would be, to have a back up method of card payment of your current provider if it’s so flakey. Don’t let such a fundamental basic thing, let your establishment down."
