Giraffe York Monks Cross

Lovely food, the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be visiting again!

Booked a table only to turn up and find it closed. No idea if food etc is good or poor but I wouldn't risk booking again

A great restaurant for a family meal out. We celebrated our daughters birthday and the staff were excellent. Great choice of food and a good variety for the children too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back again.

Service was slow. Restaurant appeared under staffed as they were trying to do too many things at once resulting in wrong items being delivered to tables. At times they were more focused on talking amongst themselves around the bar then delivering an attentive service. Food was ok if not slightly bland and lacking flavour. View menu

It is the first time we visited a Giraffe restaurant and enjoyed it very much. Our three children were cared for, they had several requirements for drinks! The food was very good and the service was excellent. We visited in a quiet time, so the service was even more personal. I would highly recommend Giraffe, especially for families.

My least favourite restaurant in York but my son loves it so we went for a meal. No giraffe cocktail sticks anymore My husband and I really struggle to find anything we really fancy eating so are invariably disappointed with our food. The bill has never been right for the last few times we have visited so watch out for mistakes, and I object to having a 10% service charge added especially as the service was pretty poor even though the restaurant was fairly empty. An expensive and uninspired visit. McDonalds would have been better.

The food was good, a variety of different dishes for every taste. I had the lamb Tagine- the cousin had not been blown up enough, and still resembled the shape of the container he came from! It was a strange atmosphere. We have booked a table for 6.30, and come in a lot of time, but we could tell the staff about 7, thanks for coming together, we didn't think about it until a few came around 7, and were turned away because they were finished serving. Then came a couple who had booked online (like us), but for 7.30 a.m., and they were turned away even though they had the email confirmation of their booking.
