"Absolutely appalling. Been visiting this pub for some time and over recent weeks it has deteriorated. Recently we waited over 45 minutes for our meal it was not busy) and when the food arrived it was so badly burned it was almost inedible. with no apology for the delay; had we not waited so long, I would have sent it back but didn’t fancy waiting another 45 minutes. When we mentioned it to the staff they were unconcerned. We tried again a few weeks later in case this had been a one off but sadly this was not the case. Again we waited over 30 minutes ,and again there was no apology for the delay, but at least the food was good when it eventually arrived. We tried again today but it has not improved. In fact it was even worse. We waited ages again, then the next table to us was served before us even though they came in long after us, however the food was not what they had ordered and they sent it back to have the peas taken off the plate. When it came back to them it was still wrong and we realised it was in fact our meal, minus the peas, so off it went back to the kitchen again. Eventually we received our meals which by this time were cold having travelled the length of the restaurant 3 times. My husbands meal was missing mushrooms, my chips were cold and like cardboard, and the chicken looked as if it had been literally thrown onto the plate. We will not be returning and will definitely not be recommending Highfield to our friends."

Went with my 2 grand daughters. The food was amazing and talia the chef cooked the best steak I've had in a very long time. They went above and beyond for us all. I will definitely be going back very soon. View menu

We've been going to the Highfield for years,it's a great place to eat and drink.Staff are all very friendly there's a nice atmosphere too in the pub.Choice of food from the menu is varied something to suit everyone we've never had a bad meal would highly recommend a visit.

The soft play area is rancid. Ive never seen a childs play area so filthy! Left after 15 minutes. Edit* The play area has not been cleaned in a while. My 21 month old kept picking old bits of food out of the ball pit and putting it in his mouth.This is why we left. The eating areas were clean and tidy but when following my son around inside the play area I could see how filthy it was. Please have a walk through and see for yourself.

Me and my partner came in on Friday evening for a late lunch, it was quiet which is unusual but we was greeted by a very welcoming staff called Cara who sat us to a table and was extremely friendly and bubbly, she was lovely and helped us choose our food through recommendations. She showed us the sizzling app which is amazing for deal and will definitely be brining us back. Food was superb so welldone to the chefs ! Price was great and the atmosphere was even better, will definitely be visiting with more of us.
