"Had a wonderful experience after booking through Secret escapes. We paid £210 for a night's stay, a cream tea for two, 3 course dinner and breakfast and it was worth every penny and more! The service in the hotel is without doubt some the best...we've every had. The food is incredible! The hotel is sublime, we stayed in the garden suite which was immaculate, it has direct access to the hotel grounds from living room. The cream tea is freshly cooked scones, clotted cream and jam with bottomless tea or coffee, you can also have hot chocolate if you like. This is not Afternoon tea but I guess if you wanted to up grade to this you can. The cream tea was more than enough for us and very tasty. We had the 3 course dinner at 8pm and if we wanted wecould have sat in the drawing room for drinks first and to look over the menu but we were happy to just take our seats in the dining room. There is a set menu and on first looking we didn't think we'd like any of the food on it and or it was anything special how wrong were we!!! We had ordered wine and this came with canapés which were divine, I personally don't normally eat any fish dishes and one of the canapés was trout, I tried it and it was delicious! The tagine starter with freshly cooked rolls and butter was super. The chicken breast main was incredible and the pudding was great also had a cheese board again fantastic. The weather was not great but we did get a chance walk the grounds for 30 minutes which are beautiful and wished we could stayed out there longer. The sleep and room was superb and got up to an excellent full English. We 100% recommend this as a superb overnight get away 5star service with Michelin Star food."

When dining in confined spaces during Corvid 19, you are aware of spacing and your own safety. the resturant was well spaced out, there was no need for anyone to invade your space. The food was excellent.

The scones provided in the afternoon were fresh and delicious, however the evening meal was even better! The fillet of beef with potato puree was one of the best meals I've had, it really was perfectly cooked. Our party of 4 had 3 courses all...of which were thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you.

The restaurant at the Horsted Place Hotel was amazing. The staff here were very friendly. The only problem with the restaurant was that we had asked for a special type of dish due to one of the group’s allergies yet after agreeing to making a...special dish, they had a problem with making it and then didn’t. Apart from that, the food was delicious. View menu

we had 2 nights in the hotel for the high time of my daughter, so we had 2 breakfasts, a la carte dinner and a high-time breakfast. in all places, the food and the service were exemplary. a big bonus was the availability of severn and...Wye smoked salmon. this has long been my favorite smoky salmon and it is highly recommended, thanks for the portions!

we have given the chance to lunch in October and were happy enough to secure the last table. wonderfully classic old school plot, building and interieur perfectly matched our expectations. a recent hotel review has expressed negatiw on this old school atmosphere. we just loved it and will stay back. pleasant, efficient and well-trained restaurant staff. we decided to eat from the table d’hote menu and found it excellent both in quality and in worth. look forward to a return visit in the new year. very recommended.

"The last time I visited this restaurant was 6 years ago, it WAS a real hidden gem. When I walked in this evening nothing had changed and I was hoping the food would be just as good as I remembered. Service was slow which surprised us as it was a Sunday night and pretty empty. We were given some olives while we ordered (the nicest part of the meal unfortunately). My boyfriend ordered the garlic focaccia with caramelised onion; the bits that had cheese and onion on were very tasty but this was only about 30% of the focaccia, the rest of the bread was over cooked and bland. I ordered bruschetta which was completely underwhelming. 4 small pre sliced bits of stale bread, some chopped up soft tomato and pesto with rocket in the centre. I could have made this at home. For mains I ordered what I always used to have, linguine alla marinara. The portion of pasta was decent, however I only counted 6 pieces of seafood and one large prawn on the top. The menu states it also comes with tomato’s which there were none of. The flavour tasted like buttery pasta with a hint of garlic, again completely underwhelming. My boyfriend ordered spaghetti meatballs. A large portion but completely inedible as it was absolutely disgusting. The sauce tasted like pure tomato purée, so lumpy and stodgy and the meatballs were like nothing we had ever tasted, VILE. We decided to bring the rest of the portion home for my mum (a head chef) to try. We wanted to know what she thought the flavour was as we were confused as to how you can make a meatball taste so vulgar! She spat it out immediately saying it tasted like it had either been cooked in or made with rancid/old fat. The cherry on the top for us was when we asked for the bill. We were given the generic boiled sweets that come with it. 2 of the boiled sweets were in wrappers however there was a third that stuck them all together that was half chewed, out of it’s wrapper. The place was COVERED in cobwebs, decor completely outdated with many flashing lights, menu pages stuck together and stank, looked like they had many a drink spilt over them and not once changed. Don’t even get me started on the toilets! We cleaned our own cutlery it was so filthy and swapped side plates with an empty table next to us as ours had food still on them. Left feeling completely disappointed and are both now suffering with major trumps. Will not be returning again!"
