"on my day trip with a bus company to helgoland stayed us on the return time for a restaurant visit. 200-300m from the island of katamarans we finally found the idyllic fish restaurant hus op’n diek. Although we had to move from the outside tables to the inside due to the rising storm, it was no problem that the operation could assign our order to our new table. I can only give this restaurant a good rating:- eating was good and plentiful- operation was really class- facility was the order for a fish restaurant and lovingly compiled- the wc’s were tagellos, clean and with pleasant sea and seafaring sounds to underpaint. If I am back in cuxhaven, I eat again exactly there!"

the dishes are conventional coast kitchen with the to be expected concrete on fish. It is worth mentioning, however, that excellent labskaus. this is made particularly tasty here.

We enjoyed a good fish dinner with boiled potatoes. The salad however was full of vinegar and sugar - more "pickled" than fresh. That was disappointing. But the ambience is attractive, and the young waitress very charming.

after we stopped walking from 9km on helgoland on the way to the hotel town cuxhaven here, and strengthened us by means of pann fish as well as stone bites with ingenious kartoffel salad, in summary only the resümee daumen high! View menu

we stayed here during a short holiday in cuxhaven spontaneously eating. the service was very friendly and we got a nice place right away. if we had come later (after 19h), we would have had to reserve. the fish was very delicious and that at a good price.

we are cuxhavener, who has sent his guests to this restaurant in recent years as recommended until several of our guests have increasingly expressed themselves about the food quality negatiw. we tested it again - and? it is really not recommended anymore. the fish plate has only low quality fish varieties on it for its price. that's not how it works!

"We were invited for lunch by regular diners of this place, who claimed that the restaurant has the best fish dishes in town. Their claim was not far from truth. I truly enjoyed my choice which was Schollen filets stuffed with smoked salmon and north sea shrimps. The Schollen was fresh and tasty. I didn't even need any salt, pepper or sauce to have it with. The portion size was generous - two big filets, one big slice of smoked salmon, a spoonful of shrimps , accompanied by long grain wild rice (or you can ask for fried potatoes the german way or French fries) and dill sauce. The dish is certainly value for money (16€). Services were excellent - fast, friendly, efficient. The interior is cosy and airy. Next to the restaurant is a fish shop where it certainly smells fishy - but the restaurant does not have such a smell - which is a plus side. I can certainly recommend this restaurant to visitors of Cuxhaven if they want to enjoy real fresh fish dishes. The menu for fish choices is large including salmon, cod, Rotbarsch, Limandes, Seelachs, Zander (sorry, I don't know English names of some of these fish). There also serve à la carte breakfast at reasonable prices between 4-6€ (higher for the choices with shrimps or multiple selection) which includes rolls, butter, jam, smoked salmon, boiled egg, cheeses, scrambled eggs, North Sea shrimps, coffee or tea. I will certainly go back there."
