"Last Minute visit with my Chinese Wife since there were very Few other Restaurants open in the Vicinity of Central Porto Torres at this time, although 19.00 is considered a little early to eat in Italy. The Bar is a Favourite of Calcio Followers, AC Milan and Sport in General. The Owners were very Friendly and made us feel Special from the 1st moment we entered, with Various Language Menus available, the Service was both Quick, Friendly and very Helpful. My Pork Steak was the Best I have ever tasted and my Wife spoke highly of the Calamari, the Surrounding Photographs of Sportsmen were also a Pleasant Surprise for me.....we will be back for sure....Surprised I never found this place earlier in my 6 Month stay.....but Happy that has been rectified......Grazie Grazie.....Ciao."

"Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing, and there is one crucial aspect that I would like to highlight: the fish served was clearly not fresh and both the manager and the chef were perfectly aware of this. Serving non-fresh products is a lack of respect towards customers and constitutes a serious health risk. We want to point out that we had a two year old child with us, and this makes the situation even more serious. The mussels were not good, the lobster spaghetti had an unpleasant aftertaste, and the grilled fish looked like it had probably been in the fridge for several days. The excuse we were given, that maybe the plate was dirty , is an explanation that doesn 't hold up. We believe that transparency and responsibility are fundamental values in a restaurant, and intentionally serving non-fresh products is unacceptable. "We usually ate here in summer and our experiences were generally good. Unfortunately, it wasn't so good today. We discovered that it was the last day that the restaurant was open and as a result the choice of dishes was even more limited than usual, two antipasti, a pasta dish and a second course. As a result, I had the Tonnarelli pata, which was too oily and without taste, while Rita had the octopus star, which was at least as good as on previous occasions. Then we had the half-freddo that was still frozen while my melon was minimal for the money 5 €. In addition, the bread we were offered as part of the 3 € per person cover fee was past its best, and the waiter even admitted that, as it was the last day, they had not made purchases. No good experience, although the fork discount was applied correctly."

"Whilst you're unlikely to make Porto Torres a destination given its sprawling, and rather ugly, industrial suburbs if you're ever in the area do not miss Lo Scogliolungo, a recently opened restaurant on the coast a little east of the town centre. Nicely decorated inside...with an ecletic mix of objects ranging from old lps (including Julio Iglesias warbling in Italian) to old oars from a rowboat, there is also a generous terrace looking out to sea. The tables are well spaced and everything is just about perfect. Minor blemishes during our visit were the lack of wifi, which was due to be installed the following week, and the local radio playing over the sound system (I like Bruce Springsteen but I don't need Born in the USA' with my Italian seafood). The wine list is excellent with a good range of reasonably priced local wines as well as a great selection of fine champagnes (including Crystal) if you wish to go up market and spend a fortune. The Sardinian beer is on tap. Service is great (though there were few tables during our visit so it could slow at a busier time) friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The choice and preparation of the food is first rate, and immediately on entering the restaurant there is a table groaning with the various catches of the day we had a raw seafood selection which comprised oysters, clams, limpets, red prawns, scampi among other goodies, which was memorable. Though the focus is on the sea a table nearby went for the turf rather than the surf options and seemed well satisfied whilst another table of Italians seemed to be devouring everything on the menu with relish. At least out of season there is plenty of parking outside. Long my the quality of this establishment last ! It's great."
