"Lovely restaurant with wonderful food and staff!! Highly recommend! Prices are very reasonable and portions are good! We split and appetizer of fried baby squid and for the main course we shared the Pistaccio encrusted tuna and the pasta and clams. All were delicious. We were too full for desert but the table next to us had cheese cake and they said it was amazing. Enjoy!"

"The atmosphere is wonderful, a beautiful tile floor and wine bottles decorating the walls. Marta was our server, and was running the front all by herself, with her husband in the kitchen cooking. I would say that by Italian standards the service was a normal pace. She speaks enough English to get the job done, but was extremely patient when practicing our Italian with her. The food was incredible; the caprese was fresh and light, the gnocchi melted in your mouth, tagliatelle was rich and flavorful but delicate. The baccalà was firm flaky and delightful, the pigeon was also very rich and flavorful and I would 100% recommend trying! For dessert the chocolate cake with homemade gelato, and cantuccini. Again both were excellent and well presented. In fact, the presentation on all dishes was fantastic. We love Martarè and will recommend to anyone looking for an authentic meal in Firenze"

"Overall, we believe that L' Osteria di Giovanni is overrated (and over priced for the quality of the food we had)! The ambiance was lovely, however, the smoked duck appetizer was too salty and our filet mignon was tough and didn't have a lot of flavor. We felt a bit rushed and our waiter was just ok (not very friendly). We were looking forward to this dinner but we were very disappointed! I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.....there are other places that we ate where the food had much better quality."

"Had an amazing meal here. The staff seemed well aware and careful about my requests for gluten free. My non celiac partner and I ordered the crostini appetizer and we were each brought bowls of our own bread. The Florentine steak was excellent. After many meals of carbs, I was happy to eat a big portion of meat. Found out about this restaurant through the Associazione Italiana Celiacha. The restaurant is AIC certified."

"We spent our last evening in Florence here. Booked based on the good reviews. The basement dining room wasn't very busy but I think that was because it was a Sunday. The city was quiet that night. The roast pork porcetta was amazing, mouthwatering, beautiful. One of the best dishes we had in Florence, if not the best. The owner/ manager served us up a couple of homemade limoncellos after we'd settled the bill. Lovely touch which kept up us warm in the way back to the hotel! Would recommend, friendly, cosy and a great wine list"
