"We were trying to get to the end of the Path of the God hike and for some weird reason we took a wrong turn and ended up in Praiano (currently Yelp says this place is in Arienzo but this is wrong. Il Rifugio is in Praiano and even Trip Advisor got it right: tripadvisor.com/Restaura… . I hope Yelp fixes this glitch soon. We came across a local named Domenico who highly recommended the place. The restaurant has a nice ocean view and it's not too far from the Sita Bus stop if you plan on riding it to go to other cities like Amalfi or Positano. The place is tiny and cute and we were happy that we went there when it wasn't crazy busy. The owner, Aldo, was rocking to current US pop hits on his radio and we found it adorable that he was singing along to the songs. He was really friendly and attentive and it felt like we visiting a jolly uncle. I ordered the spaghetti con vongole (clams and it was the best clam pasta I have ever tasted. It had just the right amount of garlic and I love the butter sauce that smothered the pasta. The pasta was perfectly al dente. Even my husband kept stealing bites from my dish. Aldo didn't skimp on the clams either and I had plenty on my plate. My husband ordered the Prosciutto do Parma pizza with extra basil. We also got served another pizza (because my husband accidentally told Aldo he wanted two pizzas , but the other one had some type of ham. Both were good and had the right meat to cheese to sauce ratio. I also liked that the pizza crust tasted good. For dessert, we shared a traditional torte that had an interesting hint of citrus (perhaps bergamot? . it wasn't too sweet either which is why I really liked it. I later found out from our bed and breakfast that it was a traditional Easter torte that we ate. The owner hooked us up with some limoncello which we thought was very sweet of him to do. He said he made the limoncello himself and we thought that was pretty impressive. When we are back in Italy, we are definitely interested in taking one of his cooking classes (Aldo said he hosts cooking classes regularly . I would love to learn how to make the vongole pasta and his yummy Easter torte."

Great pizza. Sit right on the road, so you could find it fun ... Or noisy. Salad was fresh. Service friendly. Also have daily cooking classes 20 to noon for a minimum of 5

Perfectly placed with a beautiful view! The restaurant is owned by a wonderful family. The chef came out and talked to us and was so friendly! The food was wonderful. I ordered the pasta with vegetables and seafood, and my husband ordered the calzone. We finished them both! They give you a complimentary bruschetta appetizer and limoncello after the meal. Make sure you have euros! They only take cash. We had to run to the ATM to pay, so they gave us Courvoisier as a thank you! Love this place :

6 days into our Italian trip, we wanted something easy and delicious Aldo and Laura (the owners) delivered!! It 's an unassuming, yet clean, authentic location (up the hill), and way more friendly than many of the more touristy destinations. We ordered the prosciutto and melon, followed by the margherita pizza a light meal because we had eaten mid afternoon (accompanied by vino rossi, of course) and enjoyed Aldo 's homemade limoncello after. The best part was that Aldo and Laura were friendly, their food was good, and they both genuinely seemed happy we were there. Go here if you want to relax and enjoy yourself.

We walked by Aldo 's place several times, always in a hurry to get somewhere else. It is SO close to our Airbnb that today, due to weather we gave it a try. I had rigatoni Quattro formaggio that was nice. Not superb, but satisfying. Nice dish. My wife has rigatoni with tomato sauce, aubergines and mozzarella that was fantastico. Aldo is the owner, and today the chef and waitstaff. Attentive, personable and serious about doing It well. He posed for photos after our meal and seemed genuinely pleased that we stopped by. Should 've had dinner there tonight too. Instead we chose another place that was a total swing and a miss .

My sister and I just arrived to Praiano earlier today and we were starving. We oddly enough wanted pizza (with all the seafood in the world at our fingertips) so we followed a map to a pizza place that was a few miles away and to our surprised was actually closed for renovations! After walking 2 miles up hill we we were exhausted and hungry and stumbled upon Il Rifugio right when we were about to give up. We were pleasantly greeted by Aldo who sat us outside, gave us menus, asked us where we are from etc. We both ordered pizza, and he recommended the lemon mozzarella appetizer. We watched him make everything by hand and carve the prosciutto for the pizzas. He gave us the appetizer and oh my...
