"We chose the Pork and Beef from the Sunday Roast Carvery both meats were satisfactory , though my rare beef could have been more tender needing a steak knife to cut it . A good selection of vegetables though regrettably not piping hot . A rather limited choice of deserts The waiting Staff were very friendly and helpful , but they seemed lack professionalism and self confidence On arrival , we were concerned that our reservation was not on the list ; after showing the Head ? Waiter a copy of the OpenTable confirmation my wife and I were seated at a table set for five . the original reservation for persons was reduced to due to last minute illness"

The food was overcooked and had been left under a heat lamp. Luckily, we dined at 1 o'clock instead of our planned 2 o'clock time, preventing us from receiving food that had been sitting out for an extra hour.

We were seated to a nice meal indoors at the restaurant area and had other clientele walking past to the outside area constantly swearing and not dressed for the area. The toilets were also not to the best standard. View menu

Had lunch outside due to covid restrictions. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was only of average quality with my partner’s chicken being watery and my own scampi slightly overdone. Not enough to complain about though. Quantity was huge, with neither of us able to finish either starter or main course.

Two waitresses who appeared to be clueless in customer service. They served you bread midway through the meal! Carvery food was greasy and over-salty not much fun if you’re a diabetic. The word ‘sorry’ did not exist in the restaurant manager’s vocabulary as she made poor excuses. Will not set foot in that place ever again.

Very pleasant stay. Having read some of the reviews I was worried. Yes the hotel decor looks a bit tired in parts but not enough to spoil our enjoyment. Staff very kind and helpful. A lighting issue was dealt with straight away. Food very acceptable apart from the chips that were pale and undercooked and we had a very enjoyable stay. View menu

I purchased a discounted two-night package and found the overall value to be satisfactory. The food was good, but the decor seemed a little outdated. Our room was delightful, although it appeared that there was a shortage of staff working. Despite this, Charlotte and Jean Paul went the extra mile to ensure that we had a pleasant experience.

The drink options were limited, the bar was lacking in atmosphere, and the service was slow due to a shortage of staff. The dinner at the restaurant was unsatisfactory, with undercooked fries. Even after informing the waitress, no action was taken. The room was dirty and outdated, with an uncomfortable bed, a heavily stained mattress and bedding, and dirty curtains. There was a broken chair in the room. The bathroom was outdated, with a dusty extractor fan that was not functioning, dirty tiles, and moldy bathtub and shower. The toilet flush was faulty, and the walls and ceilings were stained and marked.

"For my main course, I had the halibut steak with baby potatoes, and it was outstanding! The fish was cooked to perfection, with a delicate sear and tender, fresh meat. The chef truly excelled with this dish! The baby potatoes were soft but had enough firmness to hold their shape, and the dressing on the plate was just right for enhancing the flavor. I also decided to try an oyster for the first time. The staff were very helpful in explaining how to eat it. Following a friend's advice, I added some lemon juice and Tabasco sauce, along with a few drops of shallot vinaigrette. Instead of swallowing it right away, I let the oyster sit on my tongue for a moment to savor the flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised. I've heard oysters can be hit or miss, but this one was definitely a hit—even for a picky eater like me! The white wine I chose was a nice complement to the meal, with subtle fruity notes that were not overpowering, pairing well with the various fish dishes. If you appreciate high-quality, fresh food cooked to perfection, this is the place for you! I’d rate it a perfect 10/10 and have already recommended it to friends. A big thank you to the staff for a delicious meal and a delightful evening! For vegetarians, I noticed a few options on the menu, and the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate larger groups, making it kid-friendly as well."
