"We had terrible service at this place. From the time we sat down until the time we received our entree's was 2 HOURS. No hyperbole. And that was after numerous complaints to the staff and management. They blamed it on the kitchen (unprofessional). What really bothered us was all the outdoor tables in the shade were reserved, but locals just walked up and sat down at them like they knew what they were reserved for. Locals and german-speaking tourists that sat down and ordered after us received their food BEFORE we did. We didn't order anything complex, pizza, salad, etc. But the staff didn't seem to care and ignored us until we pursued them into the restaurant. I know Rothenburg is a tourist town, but it seems counter-intuitive to bite the hand that feeds you. I have never given a bad review on TripAdvisor, but I couldn't let this one pass. If you are not a local my advise is stay away."

Nice to sit outside and enjoy this wonderful town. Plenty of standard Italian dishes on the menu. Generous portion sizes. Tasty and filling but not fine dining. Value ok for what you get.

If you are after a good pizza at a good price (7-8 euros) then this is the place to go. Due to the weather, we ate inside and where it is a little gloomy at the back. Nevertheless, a good quick meal.

O garçom que nos atendeu era muito simpático, fomos muito bem atendidos, comida maravilhosa, sabor de Itália mesmo, e preço melhor ainda. Se pudesse, teria voltado todos os dias durante minha estadia.

After finishing the Nighwatchman Tour, my wife and I found that the majority of places had closed, so we popped in hoping the the best. To our pleasant surprise, we each had a very tasty pie with thin, crispy crust (sorry Chicago). The service was solid and we left content and very happy with our choice.

We had pizza and wine here for dinner, both were very good. Staff all spoke English although it was very difficult to get their attention when we were ready to pay the bill. It was nice to sit on the patio and watch people go by (there was actually a pipe band marching past and around town while we ate - talk about atmosphere!!!).

Although Rothenburg is very much a tourist town it actually has a number of good restaurants at a reasonable price. The Italia is one such place that manages to combine high tourist service and yet provide good wine, good food, and pleasant service. We found the pasta, pizza, and meat dishes to be fresh and full of good flavor. There were a large number of options on the menu, we ate two meals there with a family of seven and all were happy with their selections. On the adult side we had very good wine and it had the advantage of being reasonably priced so we went through two bottles (nice the hotel was in walking distance :-) The desert menu was extensive and the kids were happy.

"The owners of the hotel were so lovely and friendly. We stayed for one night including breakfast. The room was clean and warm as we went during heavy snow, shame there was no tea making facilities as it would have been nice being in the freezing cold. Beds were comfy enough and the room we had also had a bathtub. No TV in ours, although some rooms have depending which you get assigned. Great location. The bad part of our stay was unfortunately this unpleasant woman working during the breakfast who proceeded to shout at us. Breakfast was served until 10.30am and my partner and I arrived at 10am to be served breakfast and usually there is no real time limit to finish this. (The breakfast was very generous and delicious) Not once were we told the staff was expecting us to finish everything AT 10.30. This blonde woman with glasses then came out at 10.25, didn’t speak to us and simply stood at our table staring. She then walked away. She then came out AGAIN at 10.30 rudely shoving a paper saying 10.30 in my partner’s face (he speaks German) and then she proceeded to raise her voice and shout at us for not eating quick enough and how they’re supposed to get the restaurant ready when they had enough time. Checkout is at 11am so we left breakfast at 10.50 to quickly pack up and check out, and by the time we came down the table was cleared. So it took less than 10 mins to clear our table and it was clearly unnecessary to have this woman ruin our morning and our stay. If you do stay here and have breakfast either get ready to finish 5 rolls of bread, 2 cakes, a cheeseboard, selection of meats, eggs, cereal, tea and coffee before 10.30 or get ready to be yelled at. She needs to learn manners tbh."
