"Usually I don't make comments but this time I have to: this is clearly the worst pub on "Vieux Lyon" district! I paid for something that even free I would not accept: poorly drawn beer and the cuisine that seems to be rationed for a guerrilla warfare. They served to my friend two times a burguer that he didn't asked for and the pub owner make him feel like he killed Ghandi or he's the dumbest human being on earth. Oh I forgot, the salad that comes with the burguer you can find it at the market near the pub for less than 1 euro and already made like they present it on the dish... oh wait! The bread was a little harsh, half-potato-fries were ok.Before leaving I had the "excellent idea" to ask at the bar, after observing that nobody cared about the golf on skysports4, if it was posible to change for the premier league live match that were playing at the same time on another skysports channel. The girl at the bar answered me that we were not in England. I still do not understand the meaning of this response. The bathroom was very ugly already at dinner time so I cannot image at the end of the service. We were used to go there have dinner, drink some beers and pass a good time. We came out without finishing the beer with the feeling that maybe we made something wrong. But we didn't. 10 mn later we were at another pub and we found our good time. What the hell was that? Anyway I think the owner does not care about this critics. He found his business with the late teen students that goes there every afternoon for the student menu so the rest he simply doesn't care. Went to Johnnys Kitchen to grab some food and watch some of the European Championship games. Lovely burger and good selection of beer. Staff very friendly if not a bit tired. But who could blame them with the amount of beer served over the days when Ireland came to town. Will return.

The young, Irish bar maid was pleasant and welcomingly chatty, but she served me a pint of Guineas with at least an inch of head on it. This was corrected at my request but she had to be shown how to use the Guineas tap to pour properly, despite having worked there for 5 months... Then, when I finally got to taste my Guinness it was vingerary. We won't be returning.

We ate here 2 out of the 3 nights we were in Lyon, we found the staff friendly and helpful even though they were rushed off their feet on both nights. We had burgers and baked potatoes with bacon and cheese, simply delicious. Guinness is drinkable. Downstairs is more relaxing and cosy. Johnny's Kitchen is a good Irish pub and thanks to the Irish staff we felt right at home . Needless to say we enjoyed our visits .

The place is great, fun waiters, good atmosphere. But Johnny's kitchen was my favorite place for burgers, it is sadly not anymore. Not because they raised the prices by 1/1,5 euros, it was cheap before, now it s just normal, (still cheap to pay 12euros for burger and fries I guess). But simply because as many people i m sure i love my meat pink and **** and a bit nice 200g paddy, well it s over now. I went last week and the beef was smaller and they COULDN'T make it pink :'( which changes the whole taste of the burger. too bad for me they don't have Grimbergen any more as well but this is just me being unlucky. So yeah, more expensive and less good, in my personal opinion it s a disappointment...

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
