"Oh, what a day we had at The White House for my auntie’s 88th! It was pure magic, right from the off. The team there couldn’t have been more welcoming, making us all feel right at home in the heart of Scotland. Now, let’s gab about the food it was out of this world! We started with gluten free fish n chips, and let me tell you, it was as good as any chippy by the sea – crispy, golden, and just packed with flavor. The venison steak and beef short rib? Cooked just how you’d want them, tender and full of taste. The gluten free burgers were a hit too, so juicy and well seasoned. For pudding, we had these scoops of ice cream, smooth as you like, and an apple crunch cheesecake that was simply to die for. But it was our server, Anastasia, who really made our day. She was a wee star – always there with a smile, quick with a recommendation, and knew her menu inside out. I barely noticed our water bottle was empty, and whoosh, there she was with a full one. That’s service for you! The atmosphere in The White House was just as warm and inviting as you’d hope for. It felt like sitting in a cosy wee pub in the Highlands, with all the charm and friendliness you’d expect. So, if you’re ever in the mood for a meal that’s as satisfying as a wee dram on a cold night, head to The White House. It’s not just eating; it’s a proper Scottish experience, full of heart and soul"

"Arrived to the Berliner having booked a table via their Facebook page as earlier that day when ringing the establishment we were put on hold and they never returned to the phone, we thought “that’s fine they’ve forgot to return to the phone, they’re probably very busy”. So we arrived at 5pm our booking time and the bar was crowded, nothing unusual, but we managed to find our table with my name reserved on top by squeezing through the crowds of people, we were not greeted by a member of staff upon arrival, nor brought to our table, we found it ourselves and sat down, waited a few minutes for any staff to walk by to call them and let them know we’d shown ourselves to our table and that we needed menus but no staff was in sight, my partner then went up to the bar to ask for food menus as we had a show to go see at 6:30pm as we needed to order more or less straight away, there were 2 bar men on and none of them were able to even hear my partner call on them for food menus, whilst this was happening I was waiting at our table when a young couple and 2 older men stood at our table with their drinks and talked and socialised when we were essentially trying to have a nice dinner date before the show, there was no privacy at all, thank god it wasn’t our first date! Needless to say we got up and left without any member of staff knowing we had even showed up to our booking, we managed to get a table round the corner at Northern Whig, my first time there and it was lovely, and we made it in time for our show, so yes I’m sure the food at the Berliner is lovely but wouldn’t know as the service was absolutely shocking, and on a last note, yes I tried to contact the Berliner afterwards to give them this information but again I couldn’t even get in contact with them to make a complaint, unfortunately I won’t be trying again anytime soon!"

"At this place apparently the duck can only be served pink like, very very pink or well done. This was the first thing that really baffled me, and it was actually pretty funny, but I have never heard such a thing for such a fancy lookin place to not be able to cook a duck properly. It really makes no sense because surely you put duck in the oven, and after 30 minutes, it 's pink, 50 minutes, it 's well done, so why not take it out at 40??? This was the first problem. The second issue was I ordered the creme brulee, quite excited about that, but it came out at it was literally not cooked like not at all . It was a soup! My mother insisted I send it back I really hate doing that , but the point was that it was literally not cooked and was soupy, and contained raw egg, so anyway, a lovely server came by and was able to bring my creme brulee back, and I asked for just a new one. Well, amusingly, the server comes back with a solemn look on her face and says, I 'm sorry, you cannot have the creme brulee, because *all* the creme brulees are like that .... HUH?! And we were like the last table to be seated so all night they 've been serving souping uncooked creme brulees to people?? At the end, my mother kindly paid the bill, but I noticed only after that she had paid for the creme brulee that I didn 't eat omg . A server came by and asked if something was wrong because they saw us scrutinizing the bill. My mother said that it was nothing other than we accidentally paid for the creme brulee. They said they would try to refund it, but the manager came over and said it usually takes 3-5 business days after a form was filled out by us, but after the look on my mother 's face after just kind of a rollercoaster of a meal , they said they would try to expedite it. Anyway, the manager was very proud of themselves when they refunded us not only for the creme brulee but the service charge the 70p associated with it. Anyway, if you go here avoid the duck and creme brulee lol"
