"Pretty disappointed as it was my husband's 40th birthday treat. I've been here in the past on a number of occasions and have always felt in safe hands however the whole experience, this time, was underwhelming. Waiters did not seem confident with the menu. The starters were okay but generally lacklustre. The steak was very chewy and gristly and my cod dish was very green and slimy, lacking in flavour and any texture other than mush. The bread was delicious however I resent paying £90 odd quid for a meal where the bread is the highlight. Didn't risk dessert. Went to M&S instead."

This pub is amazing, it's really unfortunate that it's closing.

We've been making date nights in Palmerston for years, absolutely love everything about it. Very sad to hear that it goes under new management and changes its format.

Perhaps last time we will go given whats happened with the leaseholders. Food , drink, atmosphere and staff all top class , will be sorely missed by residents in East Dulwich , utter shame ....

Restaurant failed, the public that IT WAS CLOSED ON MONDAY!!! And it's closing. So we didn't come in! OpenTable apparently has no online notification of the pub closed not only for lunch, but also for dinner!

The Palmerston has been an East Dulwich institution for 15 years and one of the pubs that East Dulwich turned into the place it is now. It is a terrible shame that it is taken away from the current rents of Enterprise-Inns, and this becomes the disadvantage of pubs and the area.

One of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had, which includes luminaries as the Star Inn, Harome and Box Tree. It was simply stunning with a Yorkshire Pudd so big it had its own field of gravity. The pub is under threat of losing its food for snacks and sandwiches, so please lend your support and go as its too good a pub to die
