"Eating at the Karachi is an experience. It is basic. You can only pay with cash and you eat from formica topped tables. However the service is courteous, swift and professional. There is a good range of well cooked ‘curry’ dishes served with a pile of delicious chapati. I loved the vegetable dhal. A simple dhal packed full of neatly chopped vegetables and beautifully flavoured. An interesting, simple, good value eating experience for a family. It led me to read the wonderful book by Lizzie Collingham ‘ Curry. A tale of cooks and conquerors’ . This is a wonderful account of the history of ‘curry’ both in the UK and across the globe. Parking near the Karachi was quite easy."

The food at this restaurant is beautifully crafted and the service is excellent and very friendly. When I crave a curry, I always come here and nowhere else.

This no frills curry house is great for a casual night out. Been a customer for many years and the food never fails to disappoint. Delighted to see Karachi has been awarded 5 star rating recently, well done

Disgusting! Everything, service was non existent, we were the only customers on a Sunday evening, we had to ask if we could order, starters were ok, on of the meat starters appeared raw! Mains were brought out before starter plates were cleared, food was poor, the whole place was dirty.

I have been going to Karachi on Neal Street in Bradford for years, but I have noticed a significant decline in the quality of both the food and the venue. The portions have become smaller, the food is tasteless, and the prices are too high. The toilets are disgusting and seem to be stuck in a time warp from 30 years ago when chef Rick Stein used them. I will not be dining there again.

I have been frequenting the Karachi restaurant for more than 40 years. It has always offered reasonable prices and good quality food. However, today we left and will not be returning. The prices have gone up to the level of top-quality Asian restaurants, even though you are just a curry house with new carpets. Your customers used to appreciate the cheap and cheerful atmosphere, but now it seems like you think you belong in the Premier League when in reality, you are still second division.

I’ve been coming here for decades, it’s still a great curry and very original. Four of us called after a few pints at The Fighting ****, the service was very quick. Though it’s a shame they don’t use lamb anymore just beef for the Rick Stein spinach and lamb originally. The chappati’s were light and perfect. I do miss the waiter from 30 years ago who could take a big order and remember everything, he was a character and a half. Still a classic curry house, and £45 for 4 people with two popadoms each is great value.

Don 't listen to the bad reviews! And the off the back off Rick Stein comments absolutely ridiculous! They are still proud of his review and visit quite rightly!! As a mid forties Bradfordian growing up this place has always been here and it 's a real comfort to still find it running and still the same unlike so many failed restaurants. This is not the Ritz- its never claimed to be so go there if you want posh!! The samosa was excellent and the chicken and spinach special with fresh coriander on top was delicious!! Well done Karachi, wonderful honest food!!
