"Ignore the few negative reviews and visit this cafe for either a hearty breakfast, good meal, coffee and cake or just a drink to break up a walk as I did several times while on a nearby campsite. The welcome is friendly…super friendly if you have a dog with you as my Labradoodle would say..and even the customers will chat to you as a stranger while sitting outside surrounded by lovely country area. I enquired re Sunday lunch and was advised to come around twelve if I didn’t want to wait too long as after 1.00 wait times could be lengthy…..that obviously is a result of providing a sought after service so those moaning about wait times should plan to go elsewhere! The scones looked huge and all food coming out of the kitchen looked apertising….I’m now off to sample some of it after walking the lovely hills around this little gem of a cafe and small farm shop."

Visited following a recommendation and so glad we did. Homemade food was delicious, very reasonably priced and such friendly staff. Will definitely be back when in the area.

I heard that Kaths Cafe is closed until next year because the owner has cancer. When I called to ask about dinner, the woman on the phone told me they were closed and wouldn't be reopening until next year. Does anyone have any more information?

What a gem of a place, stayed there in our motorhome, had several meals in the cafe, all brilliant, superb food, will serve whatever you want, the breakfast is huge, its the first time, ever, that I have not finished a cooked breakfast. Super staff, just could not fault it, Thank you Kath, we will return next time we are in the area

I had a disappointing experience during my first visit to Kath's. The staff seemed unfriendly and did not smile once. I felt uncomfortable when I realized they only accepted cash or cheques, no cards. After waiting over 20 minutes for a coffee that was forgotten, I asked about it and was met with a rude response. There are plenty of other charming cafes in Derbyshire that I will visit instead.

Sunday dinner to be much appreciated, good fresh wholesome food , freshly cooked with love , been to lots of places but Kath food I can safely say you can get no better, so much so we go every Sunday , but have to book because so popular you not get a seat by chance or very rare , but will be close for winter , untill middle of March , but it can get snowy and bad weather up there , so I cannot wait till Sunday dinner start again in mid March View menu

It's been a long awaited return to Kaths. We generally visit spring to summers end. Today we ventured to Bakewell and when my wife mentioned lunch I said Kaths. Her smile said it all. I had the ploughman's Don't think 2 ploughman could finish it all) my wife had homely pie that looked and smelt delicious apparently it taste delicious but I didn't get to try). Kath and staff thank you all food service choice standard fabulous. If you want great produce prepared and delivered well this is the place. By the way I honestly don't know how those cyclist ride their bikes after eating those wonderful scones talk about hill climb energy boosts. Once again thanks and see you soon wished I lived nearer...

I visited this cafe a few years ago and found it to be alright, but the decor was a bit too cute for my taste. However, my wife, another couple, and I had lunch there recently, last Sunday. We arrived separately but the staff quickly accommodated us by putting two small tables together, even though they were reserved. The service was friendly and efficient, and our food arrived promptly and was quite tasty. We all enjoyed our light lunch options like salads, beans on toast, scones, and soup. The prices were reasonable as well. The only downside was that the space was a bit cramped inside, making it difficult to move around at times. We noticed other customers enjoying delicious-looking roast...
