"We hadn't been here before. We picked it due to proximity to the Theatre Royal. It wasn't busy for a Saturday lunchtime but the calmness suited us. The staff were friendly and the service was top notch. We were offered one menu: £18 for two small plates and a side each. We struggled a bit to find six dishes between us that sounded appetising. You will like this place if you like tidbits of cured fish. Our favourites were the scallops and the roast potatoes. Not successful to our taste were the leeks. We love leeks, but these were large, undercooked rather tasteless chunks that we didn't finish."

A dish described as 'figs in a blue cheese sauce with filo pastry ' came with a lot of 'shards ' of pastry, said sauce and half a fig!

We had a lovely beginning to our weekend in Glasgow for Celtic Connections. The food was delicious, and both the service and atmosphere were fantastic.

Had a great time at the restaurant with excellent and friendly service from all the staff. Quality of food is great with some interesting and unexpected fusions. It was very good value for money with costs for drinks, coffees and puddings being reasonable.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch yesterday on its first day of opening this year. The food was excellent also the fact that we were offered the a la carte menu at the market price menu, two small plates plus a side each for £18.00 per head which is a very good deal. The hand picked Barra scallops were lovely. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine.

Don’t go here for a pre theatre dinner . We waited 50 minutes for a first course and had to cut the rest of the meal short . There was obviously a problem on the night but no communication to explain . It is not a good idea to give some customers a free glass of wine or a reduction on their bill as an apology . It should be for everyone or no one . Won’t be returning anytime soon

the eating is really excellent, with the chef and the staff goes beyond and beyond to produce a menu that with some of the best seafood restaurants in the U.K. the service was timely, friendly, but professional and the waiting staff produced some of the best pre-dinner drinks I had in the old; certainly the best I ever had in glasgow. all in all, my visit to kelp was a truly memorable, and definitiw for all the right reasons. I'm sure I'm back!

Being a bit off the beaten path in Glasgow seems to work in this restaurant’s favor, as it relies on the quality of its food to attract diners. My guest and I had a lovely dinner here on Saturday. The ambiance is reminiscent of 70s international style, with stands by the street-facing glass windows. The oysters were small but came with interesting sauces and accompaniments. The highlight for me was the cod and lobster dish. The mussels were good, and the kelp butter paired nicely with a tart flavor. My companion particularly enjoyed her salmon tartare and squash tempura.
