"We found this restaurant on trip advisor and as the reviews were good we thought we'd give it a go for our evening meal. Luckily we booked as it was really busy. It is tucked away down a side street and we may not have come across it by chance. The service was friendly and efficient (despite how busy it was. The menu was of course all in French and there were quite a few words we didn't know and the staff were happy to help us understand so that we could pick from their lovely choices. We had 3 courses as it was a set menu. We both really enjoyed our meals. The bill was 90 euros which included a really nice bottle of wine. We'll definitely go here again next time we're in Dieppe."

You must go here to eat. Great French food prepared correctly. Table d’hote excellent with good wines at a reasonable price. We will return many times in the future

Tucked away, this small and popular restaurant serves the usual Dieppe fish but also a variety of more unusual dishes such as pigs trotters stuffed with cheek. Recommended for its value and homely welcome

We found La Cale on line, and as the reviews were all good we thought we would try it out. We were not disappointed, really lovely staff who took the time to explain everything, the food was exceptional, all freshly cooked to order. If you want Moules and Frites don’t stop hear??? Thank You

On our first visit we couldn’t get a table but while there we booked one for later in the week. When we went back we weren’t disappointed. Sitting outside by the dry dock, we found the service good, the food lovely and the atmosphere relaxed. Beautiful charcuterie followed by a nicely done steak for me!

Nice and relaxed decor, friendly and competent service, excellent menu! Saw the waitress clean page by page the menus really a lot of attention for covid which we appreciate. Excellent whelk tartar ! , fried noodles and salmon tataki, both quite original for French cuisine, excellent crème caramel and the specialty dessert demoiselle normande!!

Ate here on a Saturday evening in September. We were lucky to get in without a reservation! It is busy and very popular. The excellent reviews here are well deserved. The food and service were both top rate. Both of us had fish as main courses, which were perfectly prepared with beautifully presented fresh vegetables. My starter of sashimi was unexpected and excellent. Go there if you can!

I booked over the phone from England and they couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant itself is small and intimate but warm, welcoming and friendly. Full of locals not tourists and various menus offering freshly prepared food at a range of prices. Wine too was sensibly priced so we had a great meal in comfortable surroundings at a reasonable price. Seek this out -it's a bit tucked away but very authentic.

We stopped in Dieppe before getting on the ferry and after strolling around the town, we stopped for lunch at La Cale. We received a friendly welcome, it was busy but they found us a table, it’s not touristy as it’s tucked away in the old port area. We chose the set menu, prawns and salmon for entree, and rai a La normandie for mains, all delicious. Too full for dessert, but they looked good. A typical French bistro, with great service!
