"We thoroughly enjoyed a lovely early evening Table d'Hote meal for three this evening in this atmospheric candle-lit restaurant. The food was authentic traditional French cuisine but with locally sourced produce. We enjoyed escargots and soupe a l'oignon for starters, followed by Cornish mussels and...frites, and boeuf bourguignon. For dessert, we had a selection of Cornish chesses, a creme brulee and a tarte Tatin with ice cream. Each dish was accompanied by a glass of wine selected to complement it the wines too were excellent and varied. The service was prompt and friendly but unhurried just as a French meal should be. La Cave is truly what would be called in French une bonne adresse and we thoroughly recommend the Table d'Hote with the accompanying wine. We hope to return"

Fantastic Food the chef really knows his stuff, on a negative the service is snails pace! The wine is wonderful but often takes an age to get served by not the friendliest of waitress’s overall a great occasion in a cool restaurant.

My boyfriend took me there a a surprise for my birthday. Champagne, amazing wine, fabulous food, a night to remember! He’s a chef and notoriously hard to please but the chef at La Cave cooked everything to perfection. Would thoroughly recommend a visit! View menu

La Cave was recommended to us and it didn’t disappoint, friendly staff welcomed us to a candlelit haven from the cold and wind of a February evening, the music transported us to, my romantic notion of, a cafe in Paris! The food was delicious, beautifully...complimented by the wine flight. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

friends who stay in the opposite have booked this for us, we would never have known it was different there, but so glad to find it. it is a beautiful cave like restaurant, really nicely illuminated and piano playing in the neighboring bar area that was. a beautiful note. the personal was beautiful and the eating was absolutely fantastic. can not wait to visit again

We had the Table d'Hote meal and very tasty it was, the baked souffle was scrummy and my Beef bourguignon was very nice indeed. We also had the ratatouille dish which was really tasty although maybe a few more herbs in it would have just...done it proud as they say. The place itself oozes cosy charm and its very romantic with candle light dappling the walls and sophisticated Parisian low mood music. View menu

we had left it too late to find a table on Sunday night and were on the way back to the house, so it tried on the ground. the road is in the did like a French wine cave. My...only reservation was that it was very dark, the dimmed wall lights makes it difficult to read the menu. even though more expensive than we hoped to pay when leaving the house, the dishes were all very expertly prepared and proven to be good value. in the did it was a tasty bite to find a menu that has almost disappeared in these days.

had a nice evening in la cave last night. we received a very warm greeting from ellie at the arrival and we both enjoyed a cocktail before we descended to a fabulous meal in a wonderfully atmospheric candlelight restaurant. starter of ziegenkäse with pear...and nussbaum for and a fondue company made my partner for a big first cure. the most important of ratatouille and duck we are both as tasty while the desserts of chocolate fondant and tarte didin an excellent conclusion to a fantastic meal. we plan to return later in the year to south cornwall and will definitely return to la cave.
