"While touring the Carcassonne area we chanced on La Ciboulette and decided to try it for lunch. It is not quite in the old town more or less on on the D118 as you come in from Limoux. We thought they were closed but we were greeted an seated in no time. The restaurant (like many) focused on local produce as much as possible and thus not an extensive menu but attractive none the less. We opted for a set lunch (3 courses for $16 euro plus a glass of wine was not to be scoffed at). It turned out to be a very pleasant meal. A entree of asparagus followed by a veal and mushroom dish and your choice of dessert or a small cheese plate. A local Rosé topped things off. The portions were generous and the food tasty. You probably wouldn't walk out from the centre of town unless you new about it but we understand the locals like it. It was pleasantly laid out inside with a wood burning oven and griddle used to prepare some parts of the meal. The owners were very pleasant and I'd like to come back when there was a crowd in. Would be more than happy to go back. It didn't break the bank and was a pleasant lunchtime break on our way around the area."

Lovely lunchtime meal. Very nice to take visitors.Spare tables are decorated with knick knacks like a very small museum, lots of teapots. Family run, Good honest food, but limited choice. Charming hosts.

Of course the interior would make us believe in a void attic but the boss is very nice. the kitchen is excellent, homemade with fresh products. It's not the first time I come and certainly not the last. prices are coherent

Twice within a week I invited friends to join me for a meal in this cosy restaurant/museum. The very sympathetic owners certainly have succeeded in creating a special place that also provides surprising dishes at very reasonable prices. They have clearly put a lot of effort in this creation, which deserves to be visited by lots of patrons. To be recommended! You won't be disappointed.

It was just in there tonight. It's been about 2 years since this place was last visited. Nothing has changed, it is still excellent. Service was very fast, friendly and efficient, Just ordered a main, Mine the confit of the duck was excellent and the pages were also great. My wife had the Maigret de canard. it was great and the whole experience was just a really good one. Will be there regularly

Do not be fooled from outside, once in the restaurant has a perceptible wealth of ornaments, pictures, odds etc. create a wonderful ambience. The seating was spacious, no feeling of being squeezed in. The menu du Jour (18 Euro) was very tasty to finish homemade onion soup followed by a plate of delicate beef in a rich red wine sauce and a homemade mouse au chocolat. The lady waiting at the tables might have had a gracious rest, no rush here and if he asked to advise on a local wine for me had no hesitation to recommend a €14, which was remarkably good value and pleasant. We will return.

Had a really wonderful meal on Saturday 7th June. Delightful hosts, a charming dining room with lots of quirky items such as a large collection of teapots, unusual glasses, etc. The food was among the best in 2 weeks in France: Salad with 3 different cheeses w very distinct flavours, duck breast with mushroom sauce really well seasoned and delicious, followed by cheese and a wide selection of deserts. The food was traditional and so well cared for which made it stand out. Very pleasant service by Madame, starched tablecloths and napkins. I believe it is only open a couple of evenings a week but is reportedly packed out by locals every lunchtime.

From the moment we went through the door, the service was personalized, just like when we visited very good friends. We were early so we could choose our places, right near the fire. The menu consists of homemade vegetables, fresh fish from the sea, an excellent house wine, a lush mousse au chocolat. And everything with a smile and discretion. And when the bill came, I thought they had to forget to charge us for one of the meals, that's not right. So I checked and asked... no, everything was counted. Except of course for the digestion they offer us. A note about what the others ate, I tasted the duck heavanly was. And another fish from what I ordered... no regret, but next time I'll try... D...

I notice in other reviews that people do not always appreciate the eclectic decoration of La Ciboulette. We loved it. What a change from the stark, over illuminated, 'modern' restaurant tendance of the moment. Displays of tea pots, glassware, pictures and most interesting the mass of home grown apples squash and pumpkins. The owner couple cook and waitress are charming and very welcoming. And of course the food . . . Delicious and original. Our fish dish served in a tile dish was nicely cooked with an accompaniment of various vegetables, mostly grown by the woman and her father. Good appetizers and excellent chocolate mousses. My only comment, maybe some larger proportions of vegetables? The...
