"I've walked past this classy-looking restaurant several times over the last fortnight, and popped in tonight as it looked quiet. And indeed it was, until when a noisy party of arrived and other tables were rapidly filled. So much for tranquility and peace!...The menu is extensive, covering the usual Italian fare supplemented by some more unusual game dishes, including venison and pheasant choices. There's also a blackboard on the wall with a reasonable list of daily specials, running the breadth of the cuisine from surf to turf. Nothing bland or uninteresting here. As is my usual practice, I headed straight for the Saltimbocca alla Romana and was not disappointed. Often, it's beaten to a pulp and so thin you could read the newpaper through it. Not so here! Rich veal, topped with crispy prosciutto and the distinct flavour of sage, accompanied by roasted new potatoes and perfectly al dente, colourful mixed vegetables. And to top it off, a Tiramisu which could have achieved top marks with a touch more Marsala. With two waiters serving that many covers, a slight pause in service is acceptable but it needed me to initiate the dessert order when I felt it should have instead been offered. Nevertheless, the speed of delivery of the order was swift and general attentiveness was good. Saltimbocca Tiramisu Latte Macchiato Good value, too."
