"This is the only Michelin one star restaurant in Sete, so it was not surprising that it was tough to get a table. There’s no menu. Everyone gets the same courses for €65. On arrival we were given a couple of nice nibbles. Very subtle and they had a nice after taste about 20 seconds after it goes down. Always a good sign. We were warned that everything would be fish, although I think the self taught chef does use meat judging from some TripAdvisor reviews. Next came a piece of raw hake circling an oyster. There was also an oyster shell with a nutty foam (or ‘cloud’ as Chef called it she really gets involved with her guests, always with a smile! . It was only as we got through most of the cloud that we realised there was some nice jelly at the bottom. The fish element had a very nice vinaigrette that had tiny pieces of onion and ham. Very clever. My wife reckons the big strength of this chef is these little touches and sauces, and I tend to agree. Next came the tuna, briefly seared and gorgeous. My wife said it’s the best piece she’s had for years and, again, I tend to agree. We can’t remember what came with it (the tuna dominated! although we do remember a parmesan ice cream with some crumb underneath. The third course was the rouget. My wife loves this fish and it was perfectly cooked. Fourth, and I assume the main dish, was the sea bream with the skin separated and cooked in something that made it nice and crispy. The fish came in a lovely broth and some very delicately prepared broad beans and peas. All very good. There was then cheese and a gorgeous desert – toasted brioche with caramel ice cream and poached peach. Really nice. I had a coffee for €5, probably not required. We had a kir to start and a bottle of local white for €31 (cheapest was €28 and so it came to €179 overall, less than £80 a head. Very reasonable for a meal of this quality. We've been in Sete for six weeks now and have had many good meals out, but this place is in a different league. Make sure you visit during your stay in Sete."

Small cosy restaurant with superb delicious seafood and service. Only one service at 20:00 hrs and a fixed menu at 65 euros, but worth every cent. Fresh local food prepared by the owner -Anne. Absolutely need a reservation. A top restaurant in Sete

A little gem located by the Cimetière Marin with a stunning view over the sea. An small intimate place with open kitchen. The food is innovative and delicious with a focus on local products. A good price for the quality, a great gastronomic experience.

I felt welcome from the first moment I stepped in. Inventive, delicious dishes in a chic, relaxed atmosphere. Wine choices that stood out. View of the sea until after sunset when the dark blue water and sky slowly blend into each other. Reserve ahead of time, sit back, and enjoy!

La coquerie is a very great surprise : a crescendo of tastes from fish to meat. Tartare d'huitres Philemon etc Mugello d'etang, then maquereau saisi to go to a sumptuous boeuf Wellington to conclude with local fromages of unique taste. Wines: aoc champagne, aoc Chablis, aoc Haut Medoc and Soc chatonneuf du pape and finally a great Catalan :the sparkling Cava. Simply superb. The hospitality and the ambience were unmatchable!! 10+

Having been coming to Sète for a number of years, we had heard of this restaurant’s reputation but that had not prepared us for the delightfulness of the experience. No menu, the proposition is straightforward; the chef chooses what is in season and decides for you. We had said that we eat fish but not meat and this didn’t present any problem. And then the delights started. If l had to pick a particular highlight, it was the tuna and smoked mackerel with parmesan ice cream. Simply stunning! The service is attentive and warm. Go to this restaurant for a memorable evening.

Anne Majourel is a passionate cooker and an incredible host. She made us enjoy every bite of her special menu at La Coquerie. We drove from Barcelona to Sete mainly for the oysters, but the highlight from our trip was this place. I really recommend it. We have had other Michelin Star experiences in France and we were a little disappointed, but this time the star is absolutely well deserved. Also the mood is very, very nice and the team is extremely friendly. Anne herself came to say hello and we talked about the gastronomic scene in Barcelona. I would absolutely recommend this place.

It is difficult to get a table and you must reconfirm your reservation , but despite a little hiccup with our booking we were found a table inside) which was actually amazing as we watching the amazing chef and her team hard at work, in a great atmosphere, preparing one of the most delicious meals that my husband and I and our 2 very well travelled friends have ever eaten . The chef has an amazing personality and is full of character, her food is beautifully presented and full of flavour ...we have already booked a villa in Sete for next year and we will be going back here for certain....I am tasting the delicious food just thinking about it ...don't miss out on an amazing evening!

We enjoyed our dinner at La Coquerie, with high quality food and ingredients, but dishes didn't feel overly creative. The things we liked a lot: Very nice outside setting with sea view Very approachable chef who greets all the guests and serves some of the dishes herself Desserts were amazing Wine list felt very affordable for Michelin starred restaurant What could have been better Only one amuse bouche (Fried Soy Leaves that were delicious) and very basic mignardises We like the concept of only one, ever changing, menu (Les Yeux Fermes), but would actually be nice to see the menu before hand, to choose the wine. Also we only realized at end that one of the 6 courses was just the coffee Serv...

"La Marine Restaurant exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. We had come to Sète earlier than our reservation time thinking we would walk around the town, but we stopped by the restaurant to see where it was located, saw our name on our table (outside, our dog was with us . We identified ourselves to the staff and they immediately asked if we preferred to sit then or wait. We sat down for an amazing meal. For an amuse-bouche, there was a fresh and delicious tapenade served in shot glasses with toasted baguette slices. The staff promptly brought water for our dog. We then enjoyed Bouzigues oysters (a fresh batch which we saw the chef/part owner Magali cart into the restaurant straight from the Halles location! and Couteaux or razor clams in garlic, olive oil and parsley. Both were a revelation. I had a delicious rosé Nino, served by pouring it via a funnel into the bottle corresponding to the volume I ordered and put on ice. My wife enjoyed the Dos de cabillaud (cod and I loved my loup de mer entier. Both served with delicious vegetables and potatoes. We didn’t have dessert but we’re offered a shot of a sweet Muscat wine and little chocolate lava cakes as a sweet send off. All for $95 US. We can’t wait to return. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for. Don’t miss this wonderful restaurant! They also give cooking classes at their sister restaurant Halles et Manger in Sète Halles."
