"This is the only Michelin one-star restaurant in Sete, so it was not surprising that it was tough to get a table. There’s no menu. Everyone gets the same courses for €65.On arrival we were given a couple of nice nibbles. Very subtle and they had a nice after-taste about 20 seconds after it goes down. Always a good sign. We were warned that everything would be fish, although I think the self-taught chef does use meat judging from some TripAdvisor reviews. Next came a piece of raw hake circling an oyster. There was also an oyster shell with a nutty foam (or ‘cloud’ as Chef called it - she really gets involved with her guests, always with a smile!). It was only as we got through most of the cloud that we realised there was some nice jelly at the bottom. The fish element had a very nice vinaigrette that had tiny pieces of onion and ham. Very clever. My wife reckons the big strength of this chef is these little touches and sauces, and I tend to agree.Next came the tuna, briefly seared and gorgeous. My wife said it’s the best piece she’s had for years and, again, I tend to agree. We can’t remember what came with it (the tuna dominated!) although we do remember a parmesan ice cream with some crumb underneath. The third course was the rouget. My wife loves this fish and it was perfectly cooked. Fourth, and I assume the main dish, was the sea bream with the skin separated and cooked in something that made it nice and crispy. The fish came in a lovely broth and some very delicately prepared broad beans and peas. All very good. There was then cheese and a gorgeous desert – toasted brioche with caramel ice cream and poached peach. Really nice. I had a coffee for €5, probably not required. We had a kir to start and a bottle of local white for €31 (cheapest was €28) and so it came to €179 overall, less than £80 a head. Very reasonable for a meal of this quality. We've been in Sete for six weeks now and have had many good meals out, but this place is in a different league. Make sure you visit during your stay in Sete."

Not only can she cook but she can speak 5 languages ! Leaving the bad joke behind, this is a great restaurant with a great cuisine and scenic view. You never eat the same thing twice. Six dish and very imaginative.

Small cosy restaurant with superb delicious seafood and service. Only one service at 20:00 hrs and a fixed menu at 65 euros, but worth every cent. Fresh local food prepared by the owner -Anne. Absolutely need a reservation. A top restaurant in Sete

I went here for my birthday and the food was absolutely fabulous. The price and quality of the food are perfectly in proportion. The owner makes sure you are having a good time. An absolutely excellent restaurant that you must go to! Everything is extremely fresh and delicious! View menu

We are a family of four with 2 teenager kids and were welcomed warmly and felt at ease immediately. Having the menu yeux fermés we were absolutely satisfied: above all great food, fresh produce, interesting and super tasty preparation and professional presentation. Thanks a lot for this great evening.

No prizes for guessing what this lovely setting is offering for lunch. Seafood in all its glorious freshness. Its a popular rendezvous so we wait for a while adding salivation to the heady mix of exotic sea-side essences. Inside its all contemporary with views to the sea. My choice is sea bream with a noilly plat sauce. Fragrant and light, i make a mental note to book dinner the following eve.

La coquerie is a very great surprise : a crescendo of tastes from fish to meat. Tartare d'huitres Philemon etc Mugello d'etang, then maquereau saisi to go to a sumptuous boeuf Wellington to conclude with local fromages of unique taste. Wines: aoc champagne, aoc Chablis, aoc Haut Medoc and Soc chatonneuf du pape and finally a great Catalan :the sparkling Cava.Simply superb. The hospitality and the ambience were unmatchable!!10+ View menu

We enjoyed our dinner at La Coquerie, with high quality food and ingredients, but dishes didn't feel overly creative. The things we liked a lot:- Very nice outside setting with sea view- Very approachable chef who greets all the guests and serves some of the dishes herself- Desserts were amazing- Wine list felt very affordable for Michelin starred restaurantWhat could have been better- Only one amuse bouche (Fried Soy Leaves that were delicious) and very basic mignardises- We like the concept of only one, ever changing, menu (Les Yeux Fermes), but would actually be nice to see the menu before hand, to choose the wine. Also we only realized at end that one of the 6 courses was just the coffee-...
