"A wonderfull birthday. I have been to the dolce vita before on numerous occasions, i have to say that the food has always been consistent , and the staff all seem to be very friendly. the last time we went is because of a free birthday meal for my wife( its a promotion that they run for the dolce vita birthday club , After a deubious conversation on whether or not there would be provisos and restrictions on the voucher we decided to give it a try). The voucher did exactly what it said, a free starter and main course of her choice, (no limits so already, a pleasing start to the evening. the greeting and service that we recieved was second to non, whilst one of the floor staff was...read more"

It Aint That Bad.... It's a low cost pizza house, no more, no less. I've never had cause to complain, Pizza are always good enough, Saltimbocca pleases Hey, it's an Italian pizza place, rude staff are de rigeur, surely. Though it has never been something that I have noted.

Constantly underwhelmed. I have to say, we keep giving La Dolce Vita the benefit of the doubt and we keep going back. But I am consistently underwhelmed by the service and the food sorry guys you have such an incredible opportunity where you are but the food is average at best! Pizza is usually a safe bet, but tonight I could swear that the ham on mine was actually spam!!! Also we can accept that rude' is actually quirky' if the rest is ok, but it really isn't! We really want to like you, but you make it very hard!

the journey worth it. on Friday night to celebrate my father's birthday. the restaurant was recommended by a friend why not. six of us traveled well 30 minutes to get there, but it was worth it. the restaurant was busy with a good atmosphere. we had a nice waiter with a Yorkshire/Italian accent. we found out that he was venetian! No one had appetizers, but all enjoyed prosper and desserts. I had the spinat and ricotta ravioli (in vegetarian) and it was delicious! we all thought it was very cheap and would make the effort to go back.

A Friendly environment and lovely food. We have visited Dolce Vita on several occasions over the last few years due to it being on our doorstep and some of the reviews are correct in someways. However since they took on a new head chef the food has improved tremendously, Prices are also reasonable with starters around £5-£6 and pasta's/pizza about £8. They do have offer nights also which we had last time, It was surf Turf with all meat/fish main courses at £10 each. The Chicken i had cooked with a mustard sauce was great. Pay a visit and make up your own mind.

great evening. I my friend with my son called to the la dolce vita for our tee after driving. the waiter was really friendly and sat immediately. the food was nice, we had olives and garlic bread for the starter and I would just have eaten the olives all night with the chili and olive oil. my steak was boiled as I like it and my partner meatballs were beautiful and my sonny chicken bugs from the children's menu were actually right pieces of huh and not the frozen grouse that usually comes for a child's meal. we had all dessert and the profiterole were just a nice finish to the meal. we are talking back our friends to let them try as it is...more

I had no bad meal yet. I live near the dolce vita on wakefield road and has been a regular medium week experience for years. my partner and I often go either on Tuesday pizza and pasta for £5 or on Wednesday (any main course for £10), as they have special offers on these days. I've never had a bad meal in there.. eating was always consistently good and the staff is always friendly, helpful and chatting. the place is very clean and modern inside (although it is not viewed from outside) and the toilets are immaculate, which is always one of the first things I seek. I was also here for a 40th birthday party that took place down in the functional room and...read more

Underwhelming. We booked a table at short notice (we were seated within 30mins of ringing) which is good but an indication the restaurant isn't getting a huge number of visitors given that the time of our booking was at 7.45pm on a Saturday night. Unsurprisingly, the restaurant was quiet when we got there We were greeted by a maitre d, who mixed a faux Italian accent with broad Barnsley. He seemed oddly quizzical over the absence of our fourth guest (he'd popped to the toilet by the way no big deal we thought) We were then seated, promptly. Let's get the good points out of the way nice interior decor, and the toilets were quite nice. They had Peroni on the drinks menu which...read more

I wouldn't bother. The service was brisk though we had to ask twice for some things. It was friendly enough until we complained and then it got quite rude It was reasonably busy and the restaurant, which is a converted Methodist chapel/school is quite a big place. Not a venue for a romantic meal as the lighting is in industrial proportions The food was, in the main, poor and in some cases just dreadful. As we were a party of seven I won't go into details as this review would be just too long. A steak had to be returned twice as, despite a request for it to be rare, turned out to be done to death. On the third attempt, the steak was cooked ok, but had clearly been just taken out...read more
