"Attracted by the emphasis on local produce and dishes with meat dominating we were not disappointed.... The staff appeared genuinely proud of their heritage!! Dish sizes were very generous and, rather than let us over order, we were encouraged to share dishes which provoded for an ideal quantity of food. We were also directed to an appropriate Etna red wine to accompany our dinner. All in all, a very enjoyable experience which we we intend to repeating very soon. If you are looking for good quality rustic local cuisine and ample portions, this family business is one you should consider! Recommended!!"

You won't be disappointed. My family of eight had such a wonderful experience. The antipasti is never ending, more than enough to share. The entrees were huge and delicious,we wished we shared. It’s a family restaurant, we met the father, son and uncle. They were so friendly and welcoming. View menu

As every other review says the antipasti is great and very filling , we shared 4 between 12 of us followed by pizzas and we could hardly finish the pizzas took them home. They also did a gluten free pizza. Special mention to our waiter Eliseo who looked after us and actually works in London !

As others have already said, the antipasti is THE thing to order at this lovely local restaurant. It's creative, tasty and never ending. We were grateful we hadn't ordered one each a few to share between the table was more than enough. The pizzas are also generously sized, so much so that the leftovers (take home boxes offered) were our lunch the next day. Great staff, really wonderful wine and a very reasonable bill. Definitely recommend if you're in the region.

"Ambrosia is a restaurant I discovered for the first time this year and I asked myself: how did I not come before? The place is located in Astasi, a district of the village, perched at the end of a steep climb; it is easy enough to find it also because it is well indicated and however if you turn right before the madonnina you can not miss: In winter it has a room with some tables, but in summer I can imagine that taking advantage of the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, alone a great reason to return to the warm period! To welcome you will find a waiter in a jacket and tie, a little young perhaps for the dress but very kind and professional, and the chef himself who is available to illustrate directly his delicious dishes. For lunch we go directly to the meat tasting menu, which offers tastings of two appetizers, two first, a second and dessert, all at the discretion of the chef even if he shares the choice with us especially of the first... Waiting for us already offers fresh ricotta with pear mustard, very good! The appetizers arrive, the cold ones are slices of roast balsamic vinegar while the hot stink cubes with a delicious sauce; as before proposes pennoni with a seghetto of meat and black truffle and then cutlini with duck ragù, both very good! Second, I think you get to the excellent with cheek on the bed of a crisp crack at the pores: the meat is very tender, it melts in the mouth! But to be a Sicilian restaurant worthy of this name, it can not miss a dessert at the height, which in fact does not disappoint: a nuage, that is cloud, of ricotta with orange flows and reduction of fig of india and I tell you only: Wow! You can admire it in the photo, because it deserves to be immortalized. So a refined restaurant, with modern revisitation of traditional dishes, all based on meat, with fresh local ingredients and cooked very well! The portions of the tasting menu are contained compared to the classic Sicilian restaurant, but only for the number of dishes and allow you to arrive at the end of the menu having tasted and tasted everything and anyway sazi and satisfied! Also the price is right, 30 euros per person (except drinks I assure you that it is worth everything and I will definitely return! P.s. if you are fish lovers you will have to book it a few days in advance and the chef will prepare you as fresh as it was fished. ."
