"The setting is pure Savoyard rustic yet very comfortable. The menu and the local dishes were wonderful. The price with a bottle of local wine was reasonable for staying at this 5* hotel at 100e for two. So...what ruined our meal? If you read my review of the hotel I talked about the exemplary staff. Well..it was the opposite here. Possibl one of the rudest staffs outide of Paris and when you are paying 500 euros a night for your room...you expect a bit more of graciousness and attention. First...our waitress who served us and was the main server seemed annoyed when we would ask for clarification and had questions. It couldn't be the language speak because I speak fluent French. She almost had a bit of a scowl on her face. we ordered the wonderful Charcuterie and cheese place s a starter. First..the brought over a few pieces of petit toast to go with this gigantic platter. I asked another waitress for more petit-toast and for the local, tasty bread as we never received any. She also was annoyed. After about ten minutes we noticed some of the French guests leaving their tables and coming back with more charcuterie. We had finished ours and as we were really curious (and really hungry)...we stopped our waitress and asked where these diners were returning with plates of more of what we had. She told us there was unlimited charcuterie at a biffet in he main dining room. I asked her why she hadn't told us before. She barked at us that she had and walked away. She had not said a word! We were really pissed that we had been sitting there for 10 minutes after finishing our platter while the French guests were trying all thse wonderful things at the buffet included in our price! We finally got up and it was an amazing buffet of meats and fruits and breads and it was just wonderful. I can't fault the food in this wonderful bistro nor the generosity. But we really felt slighted by the staff. Our entrees were very good as I had the local lamb done to perfection with a side of an savoyard version of Lyonais potatoes. And my husband had fresh lake trout but when we went to order dessert. I made sure to ask her if it was a buffet if you ordered "Les desserts de Grandmere' as we saw people coming back and forth with plates full of several desserts. "Of course it is a buffet. Didn't you see it when you came in the restaurant" was the reply of the other waitress in our alcove of he main dining room. What an amazing sampling of hearty traditional desserts. Incredible. Honestly...if the service hadn't ruined the dinner...I'd be giving it 5 stars. Maybe they were short staffed or .who knows. But you don't treat guests at a hotel of this level..or any restaurant anywhere...as these dames did that night. The night of26/7!"

As a group of 12 you expect some challenges but we were wrong. First class service, great food, lovely wine, top quality evening. Would recommend.

This is a restaurant where food is obviously made with love. Fresh, top class ingredients, use of herbs, great winelist. A dinner to bring a smile on your face. Excellent price-quality -ratio.

Went to this restaurant in an evening with a group of friends (12 people in total.) Service was slow - to order at first, to get extra drinks, to have tables cleared, etc. The food though was good although the desserts were a bit hit and miss.

We were a group of eight. We had an amazing meal here. Everything was authentic and good. The building itself is also very cool (don't miss the fireplace with the huge chimney for smoking meats.) The desert table was great. You won't be disappointed.

We came here for lunch on a bright summer's afternoon and we're mesmerised at the outdoor section of the restaurant and its beauty. It was great ambience outside With all the greenery. The food though, was far greater than the atmosphere. We were nicely surprised by their gluten free options and their appetiser of cold cuts. The mains were just as good and the dessert even better. The service was also fab. Overall we loved this restaurant.

Our favourite restaurant for celebrating family events for over 20 years. This time it was our 45th wedding anniversary and it was as good as ever, albeit more expensive since they’ve dropped the fixed price menus. The boudin starter is a house speciality and not to be missed. My wife was equally impressed by the smoked salmon panacotta. Our evening was enhanced by the attentive, thoughtful and pleasantly humorous service from our waiter, Richard.

Not as pricy as you would think and with a daily special that never disappoints. Book if you it is busy season or the weekend or you are unlikely to get a table. Bright and spacious and less cheese smelling than most Cham restaurants are bonuses. Great wine list. Their menu options makes it affordable enough to come back more often than you think. Whatever you eat don't miss out on the tartes - you get to pick your own and trust me you will wish you could go back for seconds and thirds!

A lovely reconstruction of an old farmhouse wih a fire for grilling meat and smoking charcuterie, and a shady terrace for the summer. It's broken up int three rooms for a cosy, intimate feel.Always excellent food, with an emphasis on Savoyard and rustic classics, and lots of home-grown fruit and vegetables. The menus change with the seasons, with great game in the autumn, but sometimes a limited choice of vegetarian appetisers. Incredible selection of home-made desserts, with cakes, tarts, fruit, creme caramel, oeufs a la neige...Attentive and professional service, and always wiilling to accommodate special requests/allergies.
