"This was not a good choice. Car park, rain. Brasserie front looked inviting. Mistakenly thought few places would be open this time of year. Wrong. Nearer the harbour, out of sight from our parking spot were a number of good looking restaurants. The fact that...this brasserie was pretty full of locals led us astray. Perhaps they were after the cheap Menu du Jour : an underwhelming buffet followed by mains that you can get in almost any cheap restaurant in France. Whilst the facade of the restaurant was quite good, the interior was characterless. The service was chaotic and you had to keep reminding the waitresses. There was a lack of local fish on the menu disappointing for a fishing port. We opted for moules frites. OK, so you get a big bowl of moules but they become boring after a time. These had too many onions, plus I had a lingering rather unpleasant taste in my mouth afterwards. The uneventful frites were hardly worth mentioning. I don 't know why we bothered I have made better Moules Mariniere myself. My wife commented This chef lacks ambition. Nice coffee. As a previous reviewer said, avoid. You can find something better."

ate a burger and rider who was really tasteless was also a bolognese, which was also banished with very little meat. service was fast, but not personal. the restaurant was so busy, looked positiw out, but I'm sure they could find something better. really more like a... quicker eating place.

obviously there are not many tourist and these things liked the thoughts of some britches in their restaurant not! the whole staff was beautiful, apart from the dame that I suspect was the boss. we were sitting on the kitchen, fair enough, we. take us to stay and order our lunch. they advertise classic Italian fair! we ordered the bruschetta without the mushrooms, sink and mozzarella as on the menu it looked like classic bruschetta with chopped tomato and olive oil. when it came, it was tomato sauce on a piece of bread! the woman was not impressed that we complained and said that it was classic Italian bruschetta! not according to her menu! other agreed and fair to be in the restaurant, she...

"We visited this restaurant twice so far. A first time was for lunch when we tried the 3 course lunch. It was fine and like all these workers luncheons places, very good value. We then ate at La Himbert in the evening with 3 cyclists friends. The evening menu at €18 is also good value. The portions are generous but the quality of the dishes varies. Having been in France for two and half months, and missing the better aspects of British food such as Fish Chips , my husband and I decided to try it. Unfortunately, it was not freshly battered Fish, more likely a ready made version of this dish and probably frozen... as my husband 's portion and mine were identical, too triangular in shape just like when we buy this frozen from any UK supermarket. I would not have mentioned it but the waiter kept saying that it would be better than in the UK. Alas this is not true. I did not say anything at the time as we were with English friends and did not want to mar the atmosphere of another fine evening.... The rest of the food was good and we probably will return in another visit but we shall stay clear from the Fish Chips. There is a kind of fashion at the moment in France for Fish Chips which is fine as it makes a good meal when well prepared... Perhaps French chefs should have a week 's training in the UK in a real Fish Chips restaurant such as the well known establishment in Witby to learn how to batter fish from scratch... The service is friendly and fast enough mostly at lunchtime."
