Probably best to time your meal during daylight hours. The iconic, oft photographed Val D’Orcia really is better than the photos. Amazing! The menu here is fairly basic, the food tasty and well prepared. The house wine is fine.

Right in the heart of the busiest spot in Pienza is this lovely restaurant in a hotel. You leave the tumult outside and go through the entrance to the hotel onto a simply splendid and peaceful terrace with a beautiful view. We were there for lunch, which is perhaps not the best test of a restaurant, but we found the setting elegant and the food and service excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We were taken here by some friends who have been here many times before and received a welcome from Maurizio. As the weather was fine we had a lovely table in pole position with a fantastic view.Our waiter Alfonso could not do too much to ensure that our lunch was really special. I understand that the Chef who is only 26 has only recently arrived from a restaurant that had a Michelin star,if that is correct then I am sure that it will not be long before this restaurant has the same.The food and wine were exemplary the service exceptional and in my opinion this restaurant should be number One in Pienza.
