"By accident my partner and I found this charming well positioned restaurant overlooking the Loire. We were pleasantly greeted even though we hadn’t booked and we were ushered to a table. We ordered from the Menu Liberte which offered lots of choice including local specialities....I choose the starter of ouef cocotte with trout which was adventurous, tasty and well presented. My partner found there was also a well considered vegetarian choice and went with the tagliatelle which again was well cooked. To finish, I can recommend the trilogie de cremes brûlées. The staff to a person were very accommodating and worked tirelessly through the evening. Une expérience formidable Le Bistrot des Quais."

Good food, reasonable ambience. Book for Sunday lunch...... it is always busy. Child friendly, without the golden arches feel

Delicious food served by young wonderful team. Sit outside if you can with a great view as you are on the Loire. A set evening menu for €28 with great options. Good wine list.

Very average quality food, but not over price. The second course came while we ate the first. It was taken away and then 't come for another 35 minutes and was clearly held 'warm' during this time. Everything feels a little hurry... and uncarried... but it was the 15th. August!

4 diners - 2 satifisfied with theirs - beef in mustard sauce with potatoes and salad, sea bass on a bed of noodles were delicious; sea bass on bed of beans was ok; however cold seafood platter was disappointing. Pannacotta was good. Forget the aperitif maison - tasted like cough mixture! Cremant wasn't cheap. All in all mediocre.

Here after the visit of Chateau Serrant. Beautiful ambience with a view of the Loire. The menu had a set menu plus a la carte, including a few vegetarian dishes. Not massive portions in the set menu but my husband had very tasty....I had foie gras together with an onion chutney and roasted brioche slices. It was nice. Nice staff Good wine

What a delightful little restaurant ! Conveniently located on the banks of the Loire river, the food is simply exquisite (I recommend the "planche" menu). Winding down over a glass of Savennieres while baking in the glorious evening sun was a wonderful experience. The town itself is worth a visit as is a walk along the banks.Make sure you book in advance !

Fantastic little place right on the river . we enjoyed the platters - a start main and dessert on one board - it did not disappoint. the flavors were well balanced and amazing .i would go back to Chalonnes just to visit this place again - we did not book and went early in the evening , but booking would appear to be advisable if you want to sit outside ( we went in July - just a bit late doing my reviews)

We went there for lunch several times, and for dinner once I think. Good food, original but authentic. We enjoyed everything we had, from grilled shrimp to pasta with foie gras and duck breast. The menu was varied and inventive; the staff are friendly and good at their jobs. We had rain for a few days, so it was a great place to sit watching the river, drinking good local wine and eating lovely food. I would recommend it to anyone.

To be avoided at all costs. Mediocre amateur fare, shoddy service, barely polite personnel and two out of three guests spending the night in discomfort. The new owners are obviously complete amateurs and do not live up to the reputation of those who preceded them. A great disappointment from the friends who had invited me. It was amazing to see chairs being carted off while people were still dining. The only consolation was in the Cardhu single malt and a good bottle of Chinon, which is very insufficient. What a same for a wonderful site on the banks of The Loire.
