"we have eaten several meals here in the last months and each of them has exceeded our expectations. we took some vegan friends to dinner and they were amazed at the meal they had (we said in advance we wanted to go). from. fabulous salads and burgers to beautiful heart-warming meals, as the days were shorter, this was a great place to go with a beautiful friendly, warm atmosphere and welcome. the employees are all beautiful, the owner goes beyond and beyond to make it a great experience, whether they are there for coffee, lunch or dinner we enjoyed every outing we had there. what a great place for people to observe and observe French life. we will be there again, that their social distancing measures were excellent. we felt safe and comfortable to be there, thank you for looking for us so well."

We visited on a Friday lunchtime , when the dish of the day was " Fish and Chips" . Freshly cooked battered fish with chips , mushy peas and tartare sauce !Lack of a children's menu and inability to be able to pay by card

We came here for a late lunch having just arrived at our nearby holiday home. We asked what the plat du jour was and were told it was steak and frites. We ordered three. The waitress was very friendly and served our drinks quickly. Unfortunately...we made a poor choice for our food as the steak was incredibly tough , lacking in flavour and not at all enjoyable. The chips were good though. We saw burgers coming out to another table and wished we had ordered them instead.

the visit here used to be a high-level visit. flirt with the waiter, enjoy good French cuisine and wine, surrounded by tourist and local. saldy the place has changed the hands and is now in English property. everywhere in France, which offers fish and chips, our opinion is best avoided. Unfortunately, the English staff had no idea what was a cafe liegeois, but did not want to appear ignorant. what was delivered was a hot paprika with whipped cream covered. we will not be back.

day of grinding, arrival at 1pm, no place while there is one inside and we indicate that this does not disturb us! possible to come back in 30 minutes, okay we book. a 13h30, dish of the day of duck needles with fries and salad at 9,50 € very honest. except that the dishes arrive cold! so we let them go with a head of the disappointed server (genus they make these tourists suck! except that we are premises!). So stop taking everyone for pigeons! more no cb pay in cash without bill is average!

We were staying nearby and our host rang and booked a table for us for 8.30pm. We were standing next to her when she rang so heard what was said. When we arrived, the place was almost in darkness and the sign on the door...said they were closed. A young man sitting inside claimed we had booked for 7.30pm which was untrue and so they had closed as no customers. There are only 2 other restaurants in the village and both were full which reflects badly on Le Calice. Luckily one of them found us a table outside and we enjoyed a fabulous meal.

"We visited Em's on the recommendation of my father, who lives nearby and is a frequent diner here. The restaurant is in a fairly remote location, far from the beaten track but is most definitely worth taking the time to find. The restaurant is very much part of Em's house, and as such has a really friendly and welcoming feel to it from the moment you arrive. We chose to eat outside as it was a lovely evening, and enjoyed the beautiful views from our table . The amuse bouche was a tasty combination of puff pastry, cheese, sun dried tomato and garlic and arrived with a sparkling rose wine. For our starter we had garlic mushrooms with a delicious dipping sauce. When Em cleared our starter plates she asked us all how we liked our steaks cooked, to ensure we all got exactly what we wanted. The main course of Tournedos Rossini was absolutely stunning. The generously sized fillet steak was melt in the mouth and full of incredible flavour. The foie gras was equally indulgent and melted wonderfully, blending into the delicious sauce. This sat on a bed of well seasoned mash and was accompanied by some French beans, wrapped in a parcel by a rasher of tasty bacon, and there were some sweet flavoursome carrots artistically arranged on top. We all cleared our plates and enjoyed every single mouthful.Dessert was a chocolate trio, consisting of a chocolate fondant ( timed perfectly so that the centre was just the right amount of ooziness) , a dark chocolate chip ice cream and a creamy white chocolate mousse, topped with a chocolate dipped raspberry garnish. A chocoholics idea of heaven! A very pleasant carafe of red wine accompanied our meal. My dad and his wife both had a coffee in gorgeous little coffee cups to finish the meal, along with an After Eight each. The whole dining experience was wonderful, from start to finish and was very good value at 30€ per person.Em also sells a wide range of beautiful jewellery and assorted items, which are on display inside her gorgeous house. My daughter was delighted to find several pairs of earrings which she bought as souvenirs and gifts for her friends. Added bonus!I would urge anyone staying in the Riberac/ Verteillac area to make sure to fit in a visit to Em's Cuisine. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed."
